Desiccated Thyroid?
ad
Hello, i cant see to see anybody who stocks any form of desiccated thyroid such as NatureThroid, Armour Thyroid and WP Thyroid. I can only find synthetic products which are harsh and affect my natural production.
I have hypothyroidism with a high TSH value of 5.50 with fairly low free T3 but doctors will not help me.

in-YOUR-endo............. (no homo!)
Sir,
That's something you don't want to self medicate, you don't want to mess this up.
Regards
Find a new endo.
Why exactly wont the dr help you? Just doesnt make sense. Its easily and cheaply treated. Are you on any other meds? Some can cause your thyroid hormones to drop
Probably with a TSH number of 5.5 the doctor wants to wait and see. It’s just borderline high and of his T4 is ok they will generally wait and likely run thyroid antibodies which is normal then he will definitely wait and see if it normalises on its own. Perhaps the OP was taking thyroid meds of his own bat previously - just not enough info to be honest.
Edit: I’ve seen his numbers below and treatment isn’t indicated.
A new doctor is your answer, trying to treat hypothyroidism on your own is retarded.
What are the results of the rest of the blood tests you were given.
terojafree T3 4.19 pmol/L
free T4 14.65 pmol/L
What do you think?
I think you’re lazy. That’s what I think. Your doc won’t treat you cuz he’s not an asshole.
terojaMy TSH is at 5.4 but that isn't a concern at all?
Not really given your other numbers are perfect. Overkill but thoroughness would dictate thyroid antibodies be run to check for the beginning of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis OR you could simply wait 6 months and be tested again which is what I would expect him to do.
So what’s your problem anyway? Why are you having thyroid tests done? What symptoms do you have?
terojaSome low energy in afternoon, TRT has helped this a lot but i still have some left. Also i have Type 1 stool which is indicative of hypothyroidism as far as i know.
Have you been taking iodine? Look up iodoral. If your thyroid is a little off but not off enough to treat, something as simple as making sure you’re getting enough iodine could help. I take a half tab a day (6.25mg of iodine) for thyroid health cuz I don’t use iodized salt. You can get it on amazon for like 20 bucks and it lasts 6 months at a half tab a day.
And if there’s nothing really wrong with your thyroid (which is likely) it won’t hurt anything
Can I shoot u a PM about the iodoral stuff?
Go for it
terojaThanks for the reply, that's a good suggestion. I am seeing a doctor today and will ask for a iodine blood test to see whats going on.
What does your other blood work show? Liver, electrolytes/renal function, Hb1AC, CBC, estrodial, prolactin etc? Maybe post it up in the pictures section.
Your issue is clearly not thyroid - unless you have developing Hashimoto’s (so get antibodies done). How are you administering trt? Is this doctor prescribed? What was your diagnosis - you’re very young to be on trt?
Lots of people get tired/low energy in the afternoon. How much sleep are you getting? What does your diet look like. Answer these questions and let’s go from there.
terojaThanks for your help so far, i appreciate it.
Sleep: i get between 7-9 hours every day. The only reason id get 7 is because my body woke up before
my alarm. No problems there.

As for my trt story, well i had a test of 410 and was of extremely low energy adn so started self administering.I take 15ml of Test E300 E4D and have had a massive improvement of symptoms. i have a SHBG of 47.5 My free test was .323 nmol/L and doctors refused to help me so i had no choice but to take it into my own hands and feel better for it.
My diet is clean leading. I am a vegetarian ( but i supplement what i lack) but i eat very healthy, nothing processed no bad sugars. High gi index foods like oats and sweet potato and casein protein so fatigue is not caused by sugar crashes.
I take fish oil, multivitamins and vitamin d too.
Is there anything i left out? Thanks again for your time.
So just to be clear, you did NOT have low testosterone but decided to run a small continuous cycle anyways, directly opposite your doctor's advice.
Now, you want to pretend you have low thyroid, you don't. All your thyroid numbers are within range. Your TSH is at the high end of the range, but TSH is a measurement of the feedback loop. My TSH starts with the numbers 0.02, my guess is that the TSH reading is an in-exact science for a small percentage of the population.
Anyway, you don't have low testosterone, and you don't have low thyroid. End of story. Goodbye.
terojaYou are wrong what if you think .323 nmol/L Free test in a 23 year old is not going to lead to symptoms of low T. Thats at the bottom of range and paired with my high SHBG which is that of a 40 year old, yes i have low T.
You do understand what the concept of "normal range" means don't you?
Come back when you're 25 and start a new thread on how you fucked yourself up by not listening to sound advice but chose instead to get your medical degree from the school of google.
High SHBG and low free test does not qualify as low T. It qualifies as High SHBG and there are natural things and diet things that you can do to correct that. Makwa has a whole forum on it.
Low T is when you don't make enough testosterone anymore. Not when you produce a fine amount of test but too much SHBG.
It's something you should address whether or not you're doing TRT. The problem doesn't just go away cuz you added more test. In fact it can make it worse.
Treatable low T is called hypogonadism. As in your balls don't work. But your balls were working just fine.
But what do we know, right?
terojaBut the amounts my balls were making were bottom of range. A range that has been fudged downwards over the years, how can you say that is fine? I also suffered from the symptoms of low which have since largely gone away.
I came across an interesting read:
http://articles.latimes.com/1997/nov/24/health/he-57172
Now, it is not a medical study,.......... but neither are you.
400’s is not treatable. Your balls were fine. You were suffering from symptoms because your SHBG was high and you had low FREE test.
My buddy in work is natty. He has 450’s total test but naturally has low shbg and free test is in the 60’s. He’s a freak. Looks better than dudes that juice in their late 20’s and he’s 50.
You coulda lowered your shbg. But instead you self medicated incorrectly and now you’re a slave to the needle. Hope it’s worth it and I hope you don’t want kids.
Give him a year or two... he’ll come around and realize what a PITA it is.
Dr KMC has done his rounds and you’ve been discharged. Lol. They don’t call him the best in the biz for nothin
No homo
That is almost 8,000mg of test a week (7,875mg to be exact),
Your problem is perfectly clear,............ it's not your thyroid.
terojai meant .15ml as the other user said. How could a person even take 15ml of test E300? lol
I would suggest a 20ml syringe and a 16ga needle.
ETA: you might want to sign up for a wellness plan with your favorite source.
Is that covered by cobra?
I think he meant 0.15ml so 45mg.
Sorry can you post the ranges for your bloodwork. I am uk based so it’s hard for me give our assays are all different.
That said my initial thoughts are everything looks normal. Perhaps your E2 is slightly high. I believe you jumped the gun on self administered trt. You could have explored other more natural options first. No endo/Doctor will help you because your levels are normal although low for someone of your age. Given you are vegetarian it’s possible you were simply not getting enough fats in to drive cholesterol high enough to aid in testosterone production for example. Now you are a slave to be needle unless you try and come off and PCT to restore natty testosterone production. Do you ever want to have children? I hope not because your likely going to have fertility issues.
Anyway besides posting the blood work with ranges id like to see a macro beak down of a typical days diet for you!
Everyone’s different but 48 would be too high for e2 with test in the 800’s. I’d want it in the low 30’s/high 20’s. That’s prolly not the problem but could be if you’re e2 sensitive. You’d know better than me tho a lot of people like their e2 where yours is.
i was gonna say sugar crashes til I saw that line on the bottom. So I guess that’s out.
terojaShould note this isnt a "sensitive E2 test". This is the woman's test which over represents results. Only america has the sensitive test made for men. I learned the hard way with sugar crashes and witht he effect of proteins on sugar crashes. I am super careful about that.
Yea I just meant if YOU are sensitive to e2. Not the test lol. Sorry for the confusion.
Trust your doctor, he has your health in mind.
Yeap mental. Fucking dick doctor won’t give me thyroid meds please help me.....yeap because there’s nothing wrong with your fucking thyroid numbnuts. SMFH!!!
Your accreditation from the KMC school of diplomacy will arrive shortly.
I think there is nothing wrong with those numbers. See my comments above. I’m not surprised he won’t treat you.
Get a new doc and be stern with them remember your paying them if they don't want your business they tell them to suck it
