+ 4 Blood donation

ad

Just curious who donates...

You always should donate blood on gear. I'm new to the forum and I've noticed how infrequently people don't donate blood. Fun fact..look up a medical condition called hemochromatosis. Ever been tested for it? It's Very common...and when left untreated always deadly. Why does it matter with drug use? Simple steroids increase RBC..we all agree with that.

Hemochromatosis stops your body's ability to excreet iron. More RBC/ hemoglobin equals more surface area for iron to bind to. After enough iron is in the blood it deposits in every organ ultimately causing fibrosis to every organ.

Fibrosis of the liver.... cirrhosis
Fibrosis of Pancreas...kills the islet cells leads to diabetes
Fibrosis of the heart....heart attack
Fibrosis of your joints... arthritis...
Fibrosis of testicles.. infertility
List goes on and on...

Get checked for this disease.. you'll be happy you did.

Good post!! So many benefits to donating, my doc had to sign off on a once a week donation if needed until it gets into the safe range, then the earliest is every two months( where I go) I was so lazy and blind to donating, knowing I need to regularly, never again lol. Great read!

Blood donation is beneficial in reducing the risk of heart and liver ailments caused by the iron overload in the body... Every one should donate their blood!

NICE!!!

I've eaten just a little bit of chocolate about 30 mins before for the last 3 donations and I feel fantastic afterwards.
I used to feel a bit groggy otherwise

I donate regularly both for my own health & the very fact that it can save another life! I use the Red Cross app & fill all the paperwork out on my phone before I get there & so it’s sumple & doesn’t take that long. I’m on an EQ cycle now & I can feel it’s time to give. I’m scheduled Monday evening!

Like Sam Im down there every 2 months. I believe the Red Cross has you wait 56 days between donations. They email me when I'm eligilbe again.
