I know many of you are talking about them .. there are several sources here that accept them as payment option.

I had a question for the sources. On the websites, how are the bitcoin conversions calculated? Is there a program integrated within the websites that calculate bitcoin conversion based on same day rates?
Or would we as consumers have to calculate it ourselves. And if so, which site to go for the conversion rate? Mtgox.com or coinbase? Because it seems each site has a different rate, or I could be missing the fact that all sites have the same conversion rate?
I leave it up to you as the consusmer to do the conversion when you go to purchase /send the bit coins..
Thats really good to know. Good info. Because i prefer bitcoins...just seems cheaper, faster, better imo.
I just leave gold coins and afghan kush in gRRRL s and goth s mailbox instead of bits!
Now that's an investment legal marihuana.
Lol
And what primo bud it is.........bartering at it's finest!
im loving the idea of trading gear for buds. Ive got some iced grapefruit, strawberry cough, and somango with your name on it.
Strawberry cough is the bee s knees for sure!
That and "green bean" both some favorites of mine
Hey Steve, you know how you solve your problem with bitcoins? By buying them and then sending to a source for goods right away. That way, it's in the sources hands whether they crash or not. You'd be a fool to even consider "investing" in bitcoins. It's called speculation by the way, not investing.
Yeah....I'm no Suzy Orman, so I would never tell someone to invest in them. The volitivity with them right now is crazy.
StevebI do not see how they are different than any other fiat currency. No one knows who created them or where they came from. And I do not think they can not be manipulated, remember when Bitcoins lost all of there value in one day?

How about anonymity and security for starters? I could give a shit less about your investment portfolio. Nobody here is telling you to buy them up,...... and whether or not they can be manipulated is meaningless to me. My concern is making sure we survive another day to do business. If you don't like the idea of buying steroids with an anonymous, untraceable currency as opposed to an easily traceable one, then that makes me wonder if your name in reality doesn't have a Sgt. or Lt. in front of it.
Bitcoins are now the exclusive currency on Silk Rd, and they are only going to grow. Eventually, all online suppliers of illegal goods will use them, which means your best bet is to meet the guy in the black SUV behind Planet Fitness where you work out.
If your not down with bitcoins, then move along and visit the "other" option in superstores with all the cameras etc..... But we are not going to sit here and play NBC Moneywatch with you.
Bitcoins are here to stay, like it or not.
StevebMy response was to the video posted, did you watch it? I did and it portrays Bitcoins as being different than the other Fiat money. And "anonymity" yeah maybe for now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5VC58gjnjY
Well.....it's currency, so where there is currency there is manipulation.
My point is that using them enables you to be safe----(safer, anyway).
And yes, I watched the video and then turned to my wife (hrdbygrrl) sitting across the room at her desk and asked her to post this.
Did you see the story on Sen. Chales Shumer wanting bicoins and Silk Road shut down immediately?.....Great stuff.
StevebNo, but I am looking for that story now. But if I am going to need Bitcoins to buy steroids or cocaine from the silk road, I guess I will have to get some.
LOL....yep. If you order up some coke, use the coins...lol.
well no one is making you use them .. are they (yet) ?
Steveb"(yet)", It looks like I will have to get some if I want to continue to buy steroids. Most sources are going in that direction. But I wont trade my silver in for them that's for sure.
it does appear that way
StevebI would use them form online purchases but not as some kind of investment or savings. My point is that they can and have been manipulated just like the dollar. Millions of them existed before you could buy them. The video you posted tries to make them seem like they're different than the US dollar.
they are different - (until the fed started printing dollars) dollars are backed by gold, you know the good ole gold standard.
StevebBitcoins are backed by nothing, they went down to a value of 1 cent in a day. They will continue to rise in value and crash again, just like every fiat currency. While my silver will keep most of its value. And Max Kaiser is believed to have created them so of course he would say positive things about them. Why else would Max Kaiser buy so many of them before anyone knew about them.
Yes I understand that .. it is known that Max Kaiser is NOT the creator of bit coins and he says so in the video out right .. I have the name of the creator somewhere I ll dig it up for you ..
what is nice about this is that there is no central control and no gov control of the bit coins..
Satoshi Nakamoto was the originator of bit coins.
StevebMax Kaiser is a smart man. Why would he buy so many Bitcoins when most people have never heard of it. He bought a lot when they had no value. I think Max was one of the creators, and so do a lot of other people.
LOL.....That's a good point.
But I don't care if Max gets rich from providing a concept/service that makes it much safer for all of us.
Now.....if they skyrocket beyond reach, then another currency will develop for "the little people".
This economy is in total collapse anyway-------starting over is inevitable. What better way to start than with good old fashioned privacy??????
Stevebhttps://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Satoshi_Nakamoto
No one has ever seen, talked to, or even knows if Satoshi Nakamoto is a real person. Most likely, a group of hackers uploaded the Bitcoin code and are the ones who held millions of them before they were worth something. And since they had a few million of them, they are now multibillionaires. Those same hackers were probably responsible for its crash and then bought more when it was worthless.
I like to pay in monopoly money :-) hii
yes... yes you do don't you ;-)
