B6- Recommended/Effective Dose

ad

I know a lot of guys use B6 & Caber to help lower prolactin, but what dose of B6 do most guys find effective or sufficient? If you're taking it in conjunction with caber is it lower? Has anyone had success supplementing with just B6?

I've read somewhere that a study was done showing 600mg daily of B6 lowered a test groups high prolactin #'s by almost 33%. That seems like a hefty dose isn't it? I have no basis for that assumption though so I could be totally wrong. If that's true though, is caber really necessary? I don't completely understand the mechanism by which caber lowers prolactin and the connection with dopamine... Thanks for your input guys, appreciate it!

Geez man you go on every board and say this when people discuss this topic. We get that you don't like B6 at those levels but the evidence is not as cut and dry as you say it is, especially if someone is using it on the short term.

HOLY SHIT. I did not know this. Although it doesn't pertain to me (for now) I certainly will NOT be incorporating B6 into any part of my future! Fuck. Thank you, Rusty.

I can definitely believe it. The days I took high amounts of B6 I felt like complete ass. Best I could describe the feeling was as if I swallowed a bag of dirty nickels. LOL

And on top of that I noticed zero benefit. Vitamin E and Caber for me. Pramipexole does NOT agree with me, although that's probably the strongest option. And screw B6.

That definitely don't sound good.

Definitely wasn't. I remember feeling shakey and jittery, and just an overall feeling of ass. It wasn't intense but bad enough to bail on the experiment haha.

Also I don't know if its related or not but after reading what rustyhooker wrote, I'm wondering if it could be. Shortly after that high B6 experiement I started getting bad cramps in my palms as well as the palms of my feet. The timing of it makes it a possibility, but I also came off a hefty cycle in the same time frame so that was what I originally attributed it to

+1. I would +5 you if I could for this nugget.

I hope that men make good decisions regarding B6, and that this thread comes up as a big ass RED FLAG when searched on eroids.

Thank you for the concern bro, and yes based on everyone's responses and further research I decided to forego any B6 usage whatsoever. As you said, hopefully this thread can help others avoid any unnecessary harm. From what I understand, 100mg day is considered to be the maximum safe daily dose, but to support normal enzyme function adults only need between 1.5-2mg day. With the risk of neuropathy at higher doses I don't see any reason to supplement with it at all since we can easily get that amount from food. Thank you Rusty and everyone else who responded, I'm grateful this forum has so many people willing to help.

I experimented with solo B6 a while back after doing a ton of research, and B6 did not work for me whatsoever even going up to 1,000mg a day. All it did was make me feel like shit.

I later stumbled over an article that stated vitamin E also lowers prolactin in people with a vitamin E deficiency, tried it and that did work for me. Nipple sensitivity dropped significantly after 2 days of use and the mild lactation I had stopped. I didn't get bloods done at this time but I can 100 percent tell you it worked in my case without a shadow of a doubt. But your mileage may vary of course. I took 800iu orally twice a day by the way.

Thanks bro, from what I understand Vit E doesn't have the same negative side effects of B6, so if it's works that's def a better alternative. I wonder how being Vit E deficient prior to supplementing plays a role in how effective it is? It's def worth a little research, thanks for the heads up man.

From my research, for B6 to lower prolactin, it needs to be taken in doses that can cause nerve damage. I stopped there and won't mess with it.

Aztmtnman's picture

That was my impression when I read the test group was using 600mg day. I guess assuming a vitamin like B6 would be less harmful than a pharmaceutical like caber doesn't apply if you have to take a toxic level dose to achieve the same results?

Makwa's picture

Never used B6 but I sure wouldn't put much faith into to control prolactin on a 19-nor. Better have caber for sure for a back-up. Give it a shot and follow up with some bloodwork to let us know how it turns out. Worth a try I guess.

Aztmtnman's picture

Thanks bro. What kind of dose do you use for caber? Or is it dependent on the dosage level in a cycle? Are 19-nor's the only compound that affect prolactin levels or do the other chemical structures as well?

Sorry for all the Q's, just trying to understand the how and why a little better...appreciate your help.
