Aspirating
Has it ever been decided definitively when/if this is necessary? It used to be taught to always aspirate before injections but there has also been some new school that says it's not important and it's hard to tell which is right.
It's really easy to make a habit out of doing it every pin. But since it's almost always just air bubbles that come up, it's also easy to consider it unimportant and stop. On a recent quad pin, for the first time ever there was blood! Wtf?! After repinning at a new site, blood and all, everything was right in the world again. So what if anything could happen if you end up pinning someplace you're also able to draw blood from? Embolisms have been brought up as a risk, but are there any documented cases?
What say you, eroidian pros?

I aspirate each and every time. I have seen blood come back into the syringe only one time out of about 75 pinnings. I slowly pulled out, re-needled the syringe, and went for it again. I think I was pinning my quad if I'm not mistaken. I like the glutes much better. It feels safer to me. A lot less vessels to hit in the rear-end. Lol.
Can you actually die if you IV a whole CC of Test or even Tren? I am guessing no, if you are healthy, but you will probably feel like shit after that, while your body levels out and you puke your guts out from hacking so hard. Does anyone have any a real scientific study on this?
Use 1" 25G needles and there is never a need to aspirate.
And why is that?
If you're choosing the right site- a good slab of muscle and going in perpendicular like you should then the chances the needle tip would end in the lumen of a large enough vein for there to be a problem is vanishingly small anyway but the risk is about 0 with a 1" 25g. People that are aspirating something are nicking vessels on the way in and drawing blood tinged tissue fluid not frank blood usually. Just take your time injecting and that is all that is needed IMO for safety. Aspirating likely will pull air into the syringe from around the entry point in the skin and increased contamination and risk of infection rather than do any good.
AnonThis is very bad advice. When I aspirate and my syringe instantly fills up with nearly 0.5cc of blood that's not a fucking vessel that is a vein. This has rarely ever happened to me and only in the quads but the point remains - don't throw out stupid and potentially dangerous advice especially when it's based on something you came up with in your head not science. I'd give the average thigh shot a 2% or so chance to actually end up in the vein but it's still a chance obviously since I've done it. I've pinned quads over 100 times.
How you think a 25g 1' needle that is all the way into a muscle is going to pull in air from outside the body is beyond me sorry but that's a flat out dumb reason to avoid being safe.... Unless you think aspirating means pulling back on the plunger as hard as possible (which is doesn't) or something else strange.
I apologize in advance to the mods for my tone here--
But excuse me what are your credentials again? Maybe you should know who the fuck you are talking to before rudely and very personally contradict and you drop "bro-advice" with no medical basis. Pulling back is UNNCESSARY and this is coming from a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL not some shaky-hand douchebag want-to be body builder who cant put a needle in straight. Veins reflexively constrict when poked, not open up to swallow a needle bore. You have significant bleeding 1/50 injections??? wtf. Im not listening to you ive put 10's of thousands of needles into people with less complications. The longer the needle is in and the more someone fiddles with it introduces further risk of contamination and subsequent infection. But I guess we should all blindly follow your advice because you have poked yourself 100 times and maimed yourself in the process. Vast majority of oils will pass fine through a 25, and 1" is more than long enough for VG and delts unless your vagina is so tight you cannot aim straight. Quads will vary person to person, but larger more fixed position vessels will be deeper.
AnonYou're right, people should probably be injecting tren directly into their bloodstreams or at least partially. That whole cough until you puke and roll around floor gasping for air thing well it's just so darn fun why not.
Thanks for the laugh.
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkHighly unlikely when the end of the needle is 1" - 1 1/2" in. There is no medical literature I've seen that states this. Aspirating has been around for decades and has been proven to work for it's intended purpose. I'm not against people not doing it, but infection, by your stated modality, is not a worry if proper protocols have been followed.
Thank you for your explanation. The first comment may have been a little vague for inexperienced guys.
Coryh11According to the CDC and many different sources aspiration for IM injections is not required because the sites used in the medical industry are considered low risk injection sites. Currently there are only two recommended sites which is the thigh and deltoid depending on age etc... However, most medical professionals still aspirate and are taught to do so.
However for this general demographic my personal opinion is aspiration is very important and should be conducted every time, after all better safe than sorry right.
Source: CDC medical journal (IM injections)
"Because there are no large blood vessels in the recommended sites, aspiration before injection of vaccines (i.e., pulling back on the syringe plunger after needle insertion but before injection) is not necessary. A study published in Archives of Disease in Childhood in 2007 found that when a vaccine was administered and the needle was withdrawn rapidly without aspiration there was less evidence of pain than when the vaccine was injected and withdrawn slowly with aspiration. Also, some safety-engineered syringes do not allow for aspiration."

RustycanUmm yea I dnt agree with that info you say comes from the CDC for the medical profession that there are only two recommended injection sites; the thighs and the deltoids. I've recieved antibiotics, corticoid steroid and other shots at medical facilities and its 9 times outta 10 gone in the gluteus Maximus and every now and then they'll ask which and they'll hit the delt but I have NEVER been injected in the thigh ( I suppose you mean the quad inner and outer thigh) nor have I ever heard of anyone being stuck in the thigh at the Doctors office.... They pretty much go in the upper glute or hip area.....,, anyhooooo
VG is supp to be the main spot now.
Coryh11"There are only two routinely recommended IM sites for administration of vaccines, the vastus lateralis muscle (anterolateral thigh) and the deltoid muscle (upper arm). Injection at these sites reduces the chance of involving neural or vascular structures. The site depends on the age of the individual and the degree of muscle development."
Sorry I don't have a link it's from a pdf file.
i started pinning my calves to start. Never ever hit a vein. I have switched to just thighs now. The tear drop above the knee. Feels like mostly muscle to me there when I pin.Works very well. There is thing called
Z-Track Injection method. You can look it up on google.
Anoni dont always aspirate
But for safety yes i say we should
from my understanding both reading and asking my endo about aspirating. most docs, nurses still do, most everyone says u should, i used to. then i read like others do about needing to aspirate or not. i asked my endo and the nurse (when I was going to a doc for HRT) and both them seemed to agree it wasnt necessary but many still did it.
looking at a map of veins in the body u can see how it would be hard to get a good amount of oil in. ur pinning through them if anything with a fairly small gauge pin i use 23 or 25g myself.
yeah sure i had cough but seemed to mostly get it or got it when i aspirated! no blood thought i was good and bam, COUGH COUGH COUGH! figured i moved just a lil bit.
i like to think i have a steady hand but i can see where i am moving that needle ever so little so getting some oil into my blood stream is bound to happen.
now i am NOT saying u should or shouldnt. we should do what we know and are comfortable with and pers for me that means not just going by pers. exp.
on a side note, "tren" cough can suck. anyone getting it for the first time will prob be freaking. all i can say when u do it it, just relax, let the coughing happen and breath when u can. it will pass. sip water between coughs once is calms down enough. and be over a sink or toilet!
For the first time in 4 years i finally got blood when aspirating. I was so shocked and there was alot. So i guess i will continue to apsirate
In my emt class last week we did injections and had to aspirate. Pretty important for such an easy thing to do no? Unless you want to risk starting an IV
AnonTrust me as I've missed before.... always aspirate. When doing quads I actually go all the way in, aspirate, then pull back perhaps 1/8 of an inch or so if anything slightly less, aspirate again, then leave it halfway between the two very close positions I aspirated at to inject. Takes a little focus and patience to keep it that precise but you'll see why I bother to do so below. I actually have in fact, once anyways, gotten blood on the 2nd aspiration but not the 1st since I began doing this.
I pinned tren in a quad before and got air on the aspiration as you should, I must have been just barely outside of a vein. The slight movement from re-positioning my hands after aspirating must have put it back in the vein. I coughed so hard I threw up my protein shake/oat breakfast in the sink then gasped for air on the floor for a good 10 minutes with my phone pulled out ready to call for help because I damn near couldn't breathe at all throat felt like it was nearly closed scared the shit out of me. Was all ghost white sweating and lightheaded for something like 30-40 minutes.
I always aspirate but only double aspirate in the quads, I've never hit a vein in my shoulder or glute but I've hit in my quads couldn't tell you how many times now and even got a vein in my tricep once.
RustycanDude when I first started frequenting this site about a month ago I kept hearing about the "tren cough" and I was like da fuck? bc I've run some tren ace a few times but I damn sure knw what it is now..., I fkng love this site. So yea I've definitely got this before from tren seemed like it only went down when I poked my quad and like you said I thought the whole lungs feeling like I inhaled something icy cold to the point that it hurt was from inhaling the 90% isopropyl alcohol I was cleaning inject site with. Anyway freaked my shit pretty good then passed and now I know. Back to original topic I can't really remember if I aspirated or not I used to rarely do it but I do go ahead and pull back hunting a few bubbles then push her on in as of late. Great post bud!!
i gotten tren cough say a dozen times and most of them is when i do aspirate. go figure.
AnonInterestingly enough - that insane incident was the one and only time I've ever had tren cough beyond what you might do to clear your throat when it itches a little bit.
I'm guilty of never aspirating. Haven't ran into any probs yet, hope I never do either.
I always aspirate. I have pulled blood a couple times and one time some nasty puss. I avoided that site for a long time after that.
Hurts like hell in the lungs, seems ESP bad with tren, feels like alcohol in lungs
RustyhookerAlways aspirate. Whenever you get a lil oil in the blood you cough like crazy. I definitly dont want to find out what a lot of oil does.
