+ 3 Alcohol on cycle?
ad
Hi all,
Just wondering what everyone’s views are with drinking alcohol while on cycle?
I am partial to having a few drinks over the weekend, maybe even a couple during the week if I have had a stressful day at work and I was just looking for views and opinions on the matter? I never get drunk, it’s more just to chill me out a bit so it may only be 2 or 3, maybe a couple more on the weekend.
If I have had a drink the night before it doesn’t impact my time at the gym in any way, so it’s more along the lines of how badly does it impact the body as I read that it affects protein synthesis and can hinder gains that way over the training side. Just wondering how much of a difference this would make while on cycle?

Oh..
When it all seems to be falling apart it usually is falling together in other areas. Been grinding it to keep the ends together. Trying to balance work and family. I thought the lay off was going to be the end . Though it has turned out to be a blessing. I hired a young man who i thought would never work and is turning out to be a great hand . Little dude is working his ass off. We been slaying the tree work 5 days a week. Looking to keep that going and staying booked out out 3 weeks. I see people who set on the corner and beg and say if I'm honest I am only 2 paychecks away from living like that. What a blessing to be able to keep i t at bay. Especially during these trying times. God is good
So what sort of money is involved in that sort of stuff - How much do you charge for removing a big tree?
Site un seen . No way to tell. Just depends on the area its in. A tree that could bring 500 in a field could easily become 2000 in between houses. Is there a by product involved like lumber or fire wood. Black walnut brings 16 dollars a board foot to where maple we can't give. It away and a red oak with a beautiful grain could bring more than white oak as fire wood. Hickory is tasty to cook with but not worth the trouble to split amd try and sell. Fire wood is 70 a rick delivered and takes 4 man hours to produce. Saw mills around here wont buy if its residential because of possible metal like nails and bird houses that have been swallowed by the growth of the tree. Also they don't like dealing with small guys they want it by the truck load( 18 wheeler. ) I usually bid work at 1500 a day. But usually take two days to do it. I'm getting old and don't get in a hurry. Too many mistakes try short cuts. I find i win bids against the bigger companies because I don't have any over head like shop rent and new forestry equipment like buckets. I specialize in climbing the bigger trees and have a good knowledge of tree health. But then again seems any one with a chain saw and pulickup truck is a tree trimmer these days. So it stays competitive .
Interesting stuff man
So there's pretty good money in it then! I'd enjoy the sawing and cutting but hate heights so no way could I scale one - did you use to climb them all the time as a kid I'm guessing. I had a wicked tree house when I was younger in a big oak tree in our front garden Lol
We were visiting family on Oregon and they had a huge tree removed. I say huge I was maybe 6 at the time. I watched the whole thing with amazement. I feel that was what lead me to enjoy it so much. I've never had a problem with heights though. Took to it pretty naturally. I'm ery good at angles and distances. I usually bet money on where the end of the limbs or the top of the tree will land. Simple geometry. More of a parlor trick . The money is good. The sore body is real too. Some days I can't even walk after comming down . I've collapsed and just lay there on the ground. Hard keeping weight in this line of work.
Good shit Bill.
Great to hear bill. You are a role model and alot of people can look up to you. I lost a very very important part of my life due to her alcoholism problem. Keep passing the word that greatvthings can happen when you get your mind right and follow the steps.
Yes sir and thank you. Though it was not me . I do the best at messing things up. Any more I just try to stay out of His way . Not 100 percent fool proof though.
Putting the whole alchohol/steroid bad combo aside. If your using it to cope with a stressful day or using it to relax then you are training your mind and body to only cope and relax with alchohol. It will get worse for you since this is the case. Dont want to see you on here a year from now posting how unmanageable it has all gotten. You seem like a good guy and need to find other ways to cope with your stress and unrestfulness. 10 years now sober for me. But even when you only have 2-3 drinks there is no way you are eating 100% or getting 100% correct sleep/rest (36 ounces of liquid volume you can replace with something healthier in your stomach). The 2 main things you need to control when on AAS. If you can do without it try it and see how much better your results and energy will be. What do you have to lose? The red flag was that your not doing it for recreation or the taste but to cope with stress and to relax so you are self medicating. And +1 for realizing it may not be the best option and being transparent here.
Thanks buddy, it’s good to actually talk about it and it’s not until I have actually heard it from someone else that it stands out as being a problem...
I suppose when you say it to yourself you’ll sugarcoat it to tell yourself what you’re doing is fine!
Will need to try and work on some things and try and find other stress relievers.
“Tequila makes her clothes fall off!’
sorry brother , I've been trying to get grandma to quit drinking tequila. I see she has been in your area huh
It’s okay bro... She may need a hip replacement but she enjoyed it
8 years free, on cycle I simply love prepping my food hitting the gym hard. Keeping hydrated with my big gallon jug at my side.
I wouldn't want to experience drinking alcohol during this process. During cycle I give what the body simply needs and craves. My chill out is time with Mrs watching films, walks with kids.
Each to their own tho.
I definitely think I need to follow you guys in the clean living! It’s not doing me any favours drinking and if it’s going to impact my progress that much it’s just not worth it.
Thanks for the input buddy.
Pleasure mate, you've got a good attitude by the looks. You will do well here, hope it goes well for you.
Love to have a glass of red wine at night, but I am more into smoking a little bit of cannabis in the evening..
IMO one drink a night is ok. Also how many compounds your taking together would also make a huge difference on whether or not I would drink.
Had 10 beers last night.... I drink every once and a while. Got to sometimes to mellow out...
Put it this way, I am now 6.5 years sober after being an alcoholic from around 17 yrs old. Since I started cycling I have never once dared to test it out due to how rotten I use to feel without steroids Lol When on cycle one of the most important things is to stay properly hydrated, this is not possible when drinking. It also impairs protein synthesis. In my eyes you should only be committing to running a course of steroids if you intend to take it seriously - It's only roughly 8 weeks of your life where you are intending to take your body to the next level and should be committed in every possible way of supplementing to make sure you stay healthy. If you still intend to go out and drink on a weekend and have a few in the week then continue to train natty until training means more to you than a drink. Same with recreational drugs - You either take this seriously or you don't.
6.5 year wow great job i quit July 14th this year of heavy drinking since I was 15 i hope I make it as long as you
Well done buddy, you’re doing good! I managed to quit smoking a couple of years ago so I definitely think this is my next demon to battle.
Mate all you have to do is WANT it - and I mean REALLY want it for you. Not because others are telling you that you have a drink problem or because of if you don't our relationship is over - but because you no longer want your life to be ruled by alcohol. Often though it is true what they say - You have to reach your own rock bottom where you cannot feel any shittier and low before you truly decide you never want to be drunk again. It got so bad for me in the end I'd be walking along the street so out of my mind constantly that I'd be genuinely asking myself would it really be that bad if I walked in front of that bus.
You WILL make it bud if it means that much to you and you want it that bad - also remember with every passing week and month you will feel more and more better and healthier and that in itself is enough to keep pushing :-)))
Very well put, and great advice. I think that going forward I will need to find something else to help me relax on those stressful days. Luckily I have never been one for going out on weekends, always just preferred a couple at home so it won’t be a problem to cut out.
Appreciate the input buddy and well done for being sober for so long! Something I might look to do going forward.
Buddy - The sole reason I started drinking was to relax either in social situations or at home on a night later on after a day at work. Yes I enjoyed the feeling too but it was more the calming & removed effect that drew me to it - which then works in reversal the more you use it and you then 'need' it to feel normal. Try waking up with your whole body shaking at 6.30 in the morning needing 4 shots of vodka to be able just to think straight and your body to relax. It sounds like you are like I was feeling constantly anxious and edgy - use your training as an outlet for that excess mental and physical energy and also look at the people you surround yourself with. I look back at the idiots I use to date and socialise with and they couldn't half cause no end of problems and stress. Surround yourself with good positive people and never rely on drugs to make you feel at ease - look into all the other activities that will help too :-))
I definitely think you’re on to something as when I’ve had a stressful day, I’ll go to the gym and it’s the whole “i will have a drink because I’ve had a shit day at work...” scenario..
I think it is something I need to work on now before it becomes more of an issue in the future that’s for sure.
Glad I asked the question now as i never would have put it into that perspective.. thanks!
^ This, all the way. You'll be raising tf out of your estrogen & blood pressure.
When doing my bloods a couple of weeks ago my oestrogen came back as being in a good range on 0.5mg Arimidex EOD, my blood pressure is also spot on too luckily.
As stated though, I don’t drink in excess or get drunk and it’s only occasional. Just wanted to see if it’s even worth it at all but Press definitely made a good point.
Molinin302+1 for a great topic that many like to ignore. I've had issues with it in the past, to where I'm drinking the hard stuff in the morning just to function. Its not hard to get yourself into a dark place. I'm one that will still rarely have a drink at a family gathering just to be sociable. Stupid, because I hate the taste and have to get little girl fruity drinks. Anyway, just remember this, alcohol is a toxin. A poison to the human body. Theres no healthy amount, only amounts that are tolerated by some without doing damage. But it still has to be processed and filtered while your body is dealing with the gear you're running. And anyone that says "my doctor recommends a drink or two for my blood and heart" is lying to you. Thats called denial lol. Just my 2 cents, thanks for the post bud, best wishes.
Spot on as usual!
As long as you stick your little pinky out whilst sipping same as I use to Lol
uhm...
No homo?
You fucking pinky?
Haha thats rich.
Dont worry I used to do that too.
Mom had rule .
No drinking before noon
Unless it was in a cup.
Molinin302Right? With an umbrella in it? Lol. I just don't mess with the stuff anymore, maybe every few months I'll have one or two. My tastes changing was the best thing that ever happened to me. I never judge, we're all free to do as we choose, but a nice iced tea in a glass, with fresh mint and lemon as opposed to a beer. I'll take the tea every time.
Thanks buddy, appreciate it!
It is something I am really glad I asked because it’s made me think about it in a lot more depth..
I must admit, I do find myself saying “I only have a few drinks so it’s alright...” or because I can go a few days without drinking that I don’t have a problem but if I can find an excuse to drink I normally will unless I have a good reason not to.
I think this is definitely something I need to address and maybe look to cut it out... especially before It does because a real problem later down the road.
