ACDF surgery

ad

Hey guys and gals. So on June 4th I'm having a 3 level ACDF done. What I really need to know is.. Has anyone here had the same or know someone?? I'm looking for advice on what to do post op. I'm thinking low dose HG. Some TB500, tons of stretching. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this and what they've done to rehab themselves. If this is in the wrong place, move it. Anyway, advice needed.

Hey, thanks you guys a bunch. Yeah, I'm a little nervous to say the least. I guess I'm just going to take it day by day. I've got a great surgeon so that's a relief. I was also thinking that I'm not sure what all PT could actually do for me that I couldn't do on my own.

The main thing is to get a good physical therapist and listen to them. And a good Doc of course!

I went through it last year. I used absolutely nothing during recovery. I had 2 level. You’ll more than likely be laid up for a good 2 weeks with minimal activity. If you don’t have a recliner I’d look into it cause I couldn’t lay in a bed for 2 weeks or so. Ain’t gonna lie it was rough but I did it without any pain meds cause I’ve had problems in the past..... I was out of the gym for 3 months post surgery and took it easy several months getting back into it. Also there was no pt afterwards there’s just not much you can do. There is some minor stretching you can do like head turns but that’s about it. I was in a hard brace for 8 weeks. If you got any other questions hit me up.

Sorry it took so long to get back. Been feeling rough lately. Anyway, yeah, its going to be fused. I just can't wait until its done and over with. I feel like the incredible shrinking man. Sure takes a lot out mentally.
