Accutane while on cycle experiences

ad

Anyone have experience running low dose (@10mg/ed) Accutane? I am having a hard time with the acne right now and considering taking this approach.

Any opinions will be appreciated - thanks

Don't be so pessimistic, my young friend.

One of my derm colleagues has been prescribing it without any blood work for decades, and never had a single problem. Indeed, I cannot see any good reason how periodic liver enzymes screens will prevent any single hepatitis case.

Don't confuse good medicine with stupid legal concerns.

You should try following, in that order :

  1. benzoyl peroxide 2.5% cream (higher concentrations are not any more effective);
  2. topical retinoid : Differin is the most expensive and the best, but others are pretty fine too.
  3. oral antibiotics : Minocycline 50 mg ed.
  4. Accutane as last resort : 40 mg ed until your clear, and then the lowest dose possible to stay clear (usually 10mg ever other day, for most people).

Accutane is toxic to the liver (though less then what the general public says), and could be even more toxic in combination with AAS. I'm not aware of any publication to that effect, though.

I am prone to acne.
I once ran an intense cycle that once tren was thrown in literally blew my acne up.

No Fucking Joke. I was on decline bench, strained so hard that a spot on my face popped and started bleeding. One side of my face bruised almost immediately. It looked like I had my ass kicked.

Long story short: I tried a lot of stuff. What worked best for me was mass ammounts of B5(panthothentic acid) and tanning. I tried everything over the years and this is what worked best for me. BUT the acne continued so I took the plunge and tried accutane.

So I would agree in the majority of cases accutane is not the way to go, but it was affecting me no only physically but emotionally/mentally. Taking accutane was a life changing experience....for the better. Don't get me wrong the sides were nasty. I had almost nightly nose bleeds, my skin didn't feel real for a while, but it was worth it. For probably 95% it wouldn't be but in my case accutane was the only answer.

Use only as a last resort IMHO

Well apart from the fact that accutane really helps, I would advise to go tanning regularly and dry your acne out like that.

Try if it works, if everything fails you can still resort to the rather harsh accutane.
