Blood test low testosterone

ad

Hi guys.

I just had a blood test done, and I need some info. Ofc I will speak to my gp about it, but I want to have some grip on him, when we discuss. So my test level is 8nmol/l, hdl is 0.70nmol/l, both low, triglicerid is 2.21nmol/l and basophils is 0.11x10 both high. I am 39 years old, I lift 3 times a week, eat a fairly healthy diet. Could you give me some information so I won't speak to my gp blind. Thanks

I have sent an e-consult request to my gp, and received this answer.

"Thank you for your recent eConsult request. Good news, your results are very reassuring. The basophil count is of NO concern/relevance (and your percentage is normal)- you can ignore this. Your testosterone is a bit low- we most often see this in young men who are using supplements which might contain testosterone products. If you are taking testosterone (accidentally or intentionally) it will cause your testicles to become smaller/shrink and stop them from producing testosterone as normal. We advise therefore stopping all supplements/exercise products.
Thank you"

I am going to call them tomorrow, but it is not a good start...

Nope, sounds like they are assuming you're a current or past aas user. Which sucks, if it's not true.

Nope they're just assuming I am using protein powder, lol. According to gp, those powders contain hormones, so I had to deny I use any supplements

Besides the testosterone, they are not terrible at all. Triglycerides shows your diet could be a bit better and your tsh is a bit lacking imo. I think that 3g of fish oil a day, some cardio and trt could spruce things up.

Thanks for the answer. My main concerns are low hdl and testo. Do you think that a uk gp will put me on trt?

Your going to really struggle to get any GP to put you on trt mate.
I’m sure one of the guys on here did manage it but it took a ridiculous amount of effort and lots of alternatives have to be tried before you get the testosterone injections.

Always worth discussing with the GP but don’t get your hopes up.

From what I've read and heard it's possible to get TRT in the UK there are clinics in London at least, don't know how common they are in other places. It seems to be more of a hassle than in the US but it's definitely easier than in mainland Europe where you'd have to be near death to get it.

I agree 100%! Congrats on becoming an advanced tbone.

Naturally low hdl can be hereditary or just lack of cardio vascular health and diet. It a bitch to raise. Took me 3 years to get mine from 22 to 50. I'm in the US myself, it would be no problem over here but I'm unsure in the UK.

Post the labwork in the pictures. Also some background information could be helpful on past aas use if applicable.

Post the original lab work.
