ad
Hi guys!
Had an examenation yesterday cause I have heavy reflux. Now they dedected that I have GERD and my esophagus is enlarged. So when I eat big portions the esophagus is not able to keep the food down in the stomach.
Had anyone of u the same prob and does anybody know its solvable witgout a suegery?
I already take Esomaprazol and every month I pin a Vit B mix.
The sympthoms started after I stopped taking my fuckin pain killers which I had to take against my elbow pains from the elbow surgery.

Sorry to hear that, my wife also suffers from GERD.
I had very similar, had to have the camera down etc.
In my case the valve was locked closed, so Id eat and the food wouldnt enter the stomach, had to drink a pint of water to force the food through into the stomach. The acid would flood once the valve was opened, horrific stuff. Tried different medicines on and off, no joy.
After a couple of years I found the root cause to be SIBO and a spell later realised the cause of the sibo was carbs/sugars. Dropped the carbs and the acid issues disappeared fast. Then the valve seemed to really loosen up and it rarely happens now.
Sorry to hear this man, don’t have much experience or haven’t heard anyone having this, just want to wish you a good luck with this!!!
Ask you dr about Protonix,it’s a lot like the proton pump blocker you already take but for me it works better. It’s also not associated with stomach cancer or the kidney problems.
Achilles412Sorry to hear to about the GERD. It’s terrible. Clean up the diet(if necessary) and just eat smaller portions but don’t let yourself get too hungry because that too can trigger the acid to make its way up. And try taking an over the counter nexium every morning to combat the syndromes if not just do as dr says I have a henital hernia which causes GERD pretty bad. Thought I was having heart attack a few times and daily nexium has helped me greatly. Good luck brother
Welcome to your first maintenance drug. There will be more as the years pass.
Stairmaster...I had the same hardcore reflux after 6 months of Dr. prescribed pain meds following neck surgery. Diclofenac an anti inflammatory made it extremely worse and had to discontinue. My only help was bread, milk, cottage cheese or yogurt with the medicine. Pepcid also. Had to steer clear of spicy food too. I know its not a ton of help...but I hope a solution comes to you bro.
Scratch the bread and that's 75% of my diet. Add some egg whites and chicken...
I try to keep the breads now (not then) to real whole grains. My diet now compared to my cycle diet (apr-july) is waaaayy better. Chicken breast and albacore tuna is in there but thats another thread....
Oh man, sorry to hear that. I think you are just gonna have to eat more frequent smaller meals to. Its good you are already on the PPI to help reduce the acid. I would say start with the more frequent smaller meals. May have to change up diet a little bit and cut out foods that can irritate the mucosal lining. I would start there man, see how that helps, and see if it helps prevent surgery. Also, discuss all your options with your MD so yall can finds something that works for both of you. Stay safe, always. Good Luck
