+ 7 Ruined by praise or saved by crticism

ad

Yes, another post regarding many new posters here on eroids. Unfortunately, I think far too many of them fit into the category that they would rather be ruined by praise, than saved by criticism.
There isn't another site on the internet that has more experience or more members that actually care about the success of its other citizens; Yet, far too many new members get their panties in a wad when they are criticized for their asinine cycle proposals or their physical readiness for such a cycle.
I'd like for all new members to take a step back and ask themselves "what do I want to accomplish with this cycle" and "am I willing to listen to those with more experience than I have"?
If so, calm down, quit looking for a co-sign for your idiotic cycle and actually listen to and create a productive dialog with the members her on eroids.
What you'll get for your efforts is a solid cycle and most likely the best results you've ever had with aas. This will include advice on diet (even a diet only "cycle"), PCT, AI and the like.
Again, do you want real results or a stroke of your ego, essentially being ruined by praise or do you want to be saved by some criticism. The choice is yours...

IrishMack's picture

I havent changed a bit, I may have calmed down a little but the message I put across is clear as day. All the mistakes I made when I 1st got here I was bashed, my earlier pics I was heckled. All it did for me was make me feel at home and I knew I was being saved from some of the dumbest shit I could have done. Fast forward to today and I made some really good improvements because if I was babied or hand held I would still look like the stay puft marshmallow man from ghostbusters, and I would have bitch tits to match. Constructive critisicism should trump ass kissing any day of the week because if you have a backbone to begin with you take it as a learning lesson to try harder. I am hard on myself so why should I be soft on anyone else in that respect?
If the truth hurts then let the tears come out, wipe your fkn eyes, get your balls out of your ass and be a man.

Well said.

You know a lot of it guys is the Participation Trophy Mind Sight

When I was coming up you busted your ass, a win was a win , a loss was a loss. Busting your ass and not getting the win sucks, and hard work is commendable even if you didnt come out on top that day. If you did not come out on top, it should be motivation to train that much harder, to work that much harder and do better and win the next time.

These kids sadly have no physical toughness (not all but most) and no mental toughness. With the second one you can often learn to acquire the first. They can talk a load of smack on text (well guess this goes for plenty adults to lol) but face to face they just can not handle , can not handle any criticism or confrontation at all. Staying after a goal and grinding it out is completely foreign to them.

The guys below make a great point. makes me think of the countless people that I used to train. A guy would come in that could barely curl 10's or 15's, barely pressdown 30-40lbs on tri pressdown, after a total of 12 sets person was toast. They'd bitch and moan and cry how weak they were, and how they want to be ahead of were they were.

Then I would explain look you have spent no time doing this, no time lifting weights. How do you expect to be good at it ? If you walked in the ER can you do heart surgery ? "NO, I have no medical training, never done it" says the person. EXACTLY Says I. You come and be consistent and eat what I tell you and the amounts I tell you and weekly you will progress. In 3 to 6 months you will be looking better than most you see and lifting more., in 6 to 12 months you will be at a whole different level. However it has to be continued, steady progression. Like building a brick fort, one brick at a time, steady, and constant.

Many wont listen, many wont do it, many will be gone in a short time. The ones that did commit, stay steady and consistant, that kept cming adding those gains weekly in strength, adding those extra sets, then they totaled all that up and had some great improvements, some great strength gains, some mental and confidence gains.

I mean I cant even think of how many people I have seen do it and go from 165lbs, to 210 in 6 to 12 months and the majority of that just eating like a MOFO good clean food and ballbusting all out workouts5-6 days a week . I have seen guys do more with using the aas properly, but as we have said in many threads AAS is only the tool that helps glue all the facets together and accelerate the healing process after all that food, all that hard work, all that steady commitment is done.

Personally I by no means think I know it all. I know a damn lot, but things are always changing, theories/products/methods are always evolving .....so why not learn all you can ?

we all make mistakes, but a man that learns from other's mistakes or loss without his own loss, is truly a wise man (think I saw buddha said something to that effect)

True rant GB. Most of these young males these days have been pussyfied beyond comprehension.

Owes a Review × 1
gearbank's picture

Thank You ..GPlayer

Did not mean to rant. It just gets old dealing with it. Everyone cries they cant get anywhere in this or that when they put forth no effort or time and commitment.

Dont get me started on pussyfied thing. It is getting worse all over the globe in regards to that but especially in the US and UK. It is terrible, terrible to stand up for yourself, and especially to speak your mind on something if it is anything other than docile pc bull$#!+. No respect is shown. I am not out to down anyone. I do not expect anyone or say my woman, to agree with me on every statement or to kiss my a$$ but I am over the whole pc mentality. I hear "happy wife , happy life" one more time I am going to puke in whoever's face that utters LOL

-what happened to being respectful to each other ?, to both doing for the other ?. Same among friends, respect and manners go both ways, it is a two way street. "You get what you give or Give what you get"

It gets amusing if you dish out the same to some people, quite funny how they do not like their own brand in many cases.

But hey that is not the whole world, their are indeed intelligent, well mannered human beings , cut from every walk of life. (a great many even in our own misunderstood passion and industry right here. Yes who would think we can read, articulate and lift very very heavy $#!+ hehe) The key is to gently steer your ship towards those fine individuals and away from those who just do not get it or are negative people.

true grit's picture

Hey GB, what you say is true about people, but the reality is, it works this way with everything in life. A guy says " my relationship is terrible" "My finances are in shambles" I'm fat" "I just can't get ahead at ...fill in the blank". Etc., etc., etc. If you ask them what the problem is, I'll be damned if you hear many of them say "it's me! I'm the damn problem". Instead, there is slways something or someone else to blame. They may ask you for advise, but they really aren't interested in the asnwers. If you are succesful at things in life, they look at you and think that you somehow managed to get where you are by taking shortcuts. No asshole. It was yrs of hard work and sacrifice. Heres a tip for you. Don't be a dick head to your wife. Get a financial education (& start out by spending less than you earn), get off the couch and stop stuffing cheetos in your mouth, if you are not getting shead, then learn what other succesful people are doing in that particular area of interest, and...wait for it... fucking do what they do!! There is nothing new under the sun. King Solomon wrote that about 4000 yrs ago. Yes, there are some advances in technology and knowledge, but essentially, the principals are all the same and can be applied to just about everything in life. We have it so easy today. With the internet there is very little information that you can't aquire. Want to know something? google it. Want to find a book wriiten on a subject? Google it. Want to find groups of like minded people? You guessed it. Google it. Then find a qualified mentor. And when you ask questions about how they became so succesful, go ahead and sh*t all over them and run out and do just whatever you were already going to do anyway.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am an active knowledge and "QUALIFIED" advice seeker, and have learned over the yrs that most of what you say to people falls on deaf ears. It's dissapointing sometimes and makes it where you are very leery to try and help folks. Rant over. For now...

zeusmarada's picture

@True Grit, you and I have identical world views. Listen. Learn. Work your ass off. Put the words and voices of great men and women into your brain. Want success? Learn from successful people.

I'm not a big fan of people saying, "ancient wisdom," blah blah blah. But I do agree that the basics of human existence were figured out long, long ago, and haven't changed. MODERATION. WORK SMART, PLAY SMART. SPEND LESS THAN YOU EARN, AND LIVE FRUGALLY. LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE.

This shit aint new. It is indeed, "ancient." In today's world, regardless of being able to flip a switch for light, heat, cold, whatever, these sentiments above still apply.

Brother, you're an inspiration as always.

Some members have a way of stripping down a point that makes it come across as simple, and obvious...when in actuality it hasn't been looked at in that light. This post is one of them.

A humble approach to criticism given when asking a question will indeed open the door for constructive real world help. By some real world been there done that gentlemen that walk the walk!

Classic example of tough love right here (no homo)....... the board is lacking in this department imo.

Notice how the kid did a turnaround on his original plan............ proves it works period.

vhman's picture

the board is lacking in this department imo

I think this is true. Too many people (new and old members) get upset when people are blunt or offer criticism. AAS are no joke, but they're treated as such by so too many people here. They'd rather be buddies with someone as opposed to really helping them. Being politically correct and soft never helped anyone, especially when dealing with younger and/or inexperienced folks. I'd much rather have someone come down on me when I was about to do something stupid, as opposed to them being "nice" and letting me go down a dangerous path. I just don't get why people would want it any other way...
This is a great example of this guy being saved by criticism. We'll keep following your lead.

coolcat's picture

yeah i see this a lot to be honest i dont think you should even sign up here if you dont know the basics. google is your friend and although im new to taking testosterone in any form im far from clueless and understand the risks and make sure im careful with low dosage just to supplement so to speak then go through pct. i do it by the book. im 4 weeks in on a prop cycle and in another 4 weeks im out with pct . nutrition rest the gym are all that counts thats why i kinda supplement not blast and never will. i feel good at my size and adding test the last 2 cycles currently on my 3rd at a max of 400mg a week has given me better gains than natural but not massive. if i can get back to a good natural test level after this cycle is up i may just leave it for now cos im young and wait till later years when i truly need it.

Gentlemen and ladies, I know this post is half a year old, but it's incredible. +1

I've been here half of a year and I can actually contribute to this thread.

When I came here, I had an ego. I've been lifting natty for twenty years, and I'm strong. I work my ass off, I pride myself in listening and learning, but regardless of having Low T and needing help & advice, I still had an ego.

WELCOME TO EROIDS. CHECK YOUR FUCKING EGO AT THE DOOR.

  1. We are here to help you achieve your goals and stay in the best health while doing so.
  2. People have failed and succeeded here. Peeps will teach you how to succeed.
  3. Doing stupid shit is lame as fuck compared to doing epic shit.
  4. Whether you want to build muscle, wealth, or a simple & good life, SLOW AND STEADY ALWAYS WINS.
  5. You can't pay anyone back. You simply gotta pay it forward to the next generation of boys who are trying to be better men (and girls who want to be better women... I'm simply male and can best help those of my same gender).

Welcome to Eroids. LISTEN. LEARN. CONQUER. Rinse, lather and repeat.

Cheers to strength, whether you are a champion athlete or recovering from something and can barely move. You are not alone, ever. We all walk this road together! Carry on. -Zeus M

vhman's picture

Glad you liked the post. I'm also glad you're here and sharing what you know. It can be frustrating with many of the new idiots, but they leave as fast as they come. It's the solid people who make Eroids the place to be.

zeusmarada's picture

@vhman, sorry I missed this reply from a week ago. Skipped right over it and chatted with Viking. Dang. My bad. Vhman, dude, this original thread you wrote back in June was spot on the money.

Personally, in my case, regarding the theme you posted in this thread, I personally have been "saved by criticism." Brother, your voice and good mojo have helped me navigate this incredibly complex web called AAS.

In my half a year here, I've learned that, in the end, it's still common fucking sense to not jump off the deep end. Eroids has literally changed my life for the better, and I can't say that about any other site I've ever come across, ever (and I'm not even using AAS at this point!). My eyes are wide open, my ego is checked at the door, and I'm no longer impatient, just eager. I'm eager to learn, to share, to encourage, to do things safely, to be fucking smart, and ultimately to live life to it's fucking fullest, both physically and emotionally.

I sound like a motivational cat poster. My bad on that, but I'm sincere. Vhman, great thread.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

+3 bro good post Smile

I hope people do read your post and rearrange their attitudes in a suitable manner because i received a PM from a very high ranking highly respected member last night advising me he was seriously giving thought to walking away from eroids due to the shite we are attracting here as of late!... it would be a serious blow to the board because members of his calibre pass through here once every blue moon.

Seems to be the season for the "hard headed" and knowledge rejecters here again :(

Catalyst's picture

Sorry to say that's me Vike's referring to, although I'm not sure about the serious blow bit ;)

Time for me to take a break folks, not sure if that's permanent or not at the moment.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Fucking hell!!!............. this is all we need, another top member walked away.. shit!

Im so pissed off i cant even start to explain...........

zeusmarada's picture

@Viking, thank you for the good mojo! Being a total newbie to AAS, I can't contribute on that aspect yet. But I'm no stranger to the iron, and I sure as hell am not afraid to work my ass off.

The problem with young guys is that they don't know what a year is.

Every lift. Every rep. Squeeze, push, breathe. Slow and steady.

You blink your eyes, a year has gone by, and you're stronger. Do it all again, year in and year out, and you'll wake up strong as a mule.

Our rock flies around that huge nuclear furnace we call a sun, and it's not slowing down. It'll be back to this point in space in a year. Be stronger when it gets back here than you were last time it was here.

So then the hard headed kid comes in and says, "But I'm 19 years old and I want to get swole, bro!!!"

To which I would simply reply, "if you want success, do what successful people do. Eroids is full of successful people who've utilized smart training, clean diet and smart AAS use. They all agree, the best and healthiest way to build muscle is to do it slowly, steady, and CONSISTENTLY. If you want to blow up like a balloon, don't be surprised when your insides pop like a balloon."

But what do I know. I'm almost 40 and my hair is starting to show signs of grey. So fuck me, all you hard headed kids out there, don't listen to me. Just go pump yourself full of every compound known to man and flop around hap haphazardly in the gym. Kiss your nuts goodbye as you do it, kids. Meanwhile, the vets and I will be taking our time to build bodies and lives that matter, year in and year out, cuz we know what a year is.

Rant over.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

You speak the truth bro........ i agree whole heartedly Smile

This is bang on 2 years ago, right now and I expect 2 years from now. +1 for putting it down

puppers2213's picture

I have a question regarding my current cycle that's been somewhat derailed and would like some input on how to get it back on track. Sent you a friend request.

vhman's picture

I remember. It only takes a few to burn a bad taste into your mouth. That's what's unfortunate about this: so many members want to help, but they get tired of the nonsense.
There are good ones though and I'm glad they take advantage of all droids has to offer.

Catalyst's picture

He's probably the only member I've ever got really pissed off at.

Catalyst's picture

He definitely didn't see himself in the same way others did. I can't even think what it was he said to you that made me lose my temper with him? Must of been nice ;)

rolltide3's picture

This made me think of when vike kept changing his pic in the pic section lol. It was great vike started by putting pics of himself up without the face and jk keep saying he didn't know what was goin on then vike started changing it to hot girl pics Lmfao. Classic moment jk was apologizing to people for the pics lol

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Hahahaha...... i remember that, funny as fk

irongame427's picture

Lollll that was to funny.

vhman's picture

Some just need to learn the hard way unfortunately. It just gets old when there is a much easier path to take and then they expect a quick fix to their own mess.

rolltide3's picture

Unfortunately we live n a day and age where most people can't take criticism. Everyone wants a pat on the back not a boot to the ass. It's just our society nowadays.. look at baseball now for little kids they hand out trophies to all the team's and some leagues don't even keep score. It's a mentality our society has now.

Dickkhead's picture

Bro, I don't understand why they care about a co-sign. If they don't respect our opinions and reject our advice, WTF does it matter if we co-sign? I'm so confused.

vhman's picture

I think people are just worried about being right or at least being told they are right, regardless of who it's from. It's the same people who want a shortcut for everything and seem to be allergic to hard work, especially when it comes to aas, diet and training.

TheFlash85's picture

exactly, were not here bashing folks or ganging up, even if it seems that way, the guys who fight the good fight are trying to educate on safe proper, responsible usage and open societies eyes to the fact that aas can be used correctly and safely.

rolltide3's picture

I'm afraid American society will never believe that aas can be used safely. Baseball and congress ruined that

Makwa's picture

They must be reading other forums and getting their cycle ideas from there, or from their gym buddies . Then they come post them here lookiing a for a cosign. I just can't see how they are coming up with some of those cycles if they would be getting their info from this site, unless they are just hanging out in some of those SI pages.

irongame427's picture

Heres another way they come up with these cycles. Not saying these ones are train wrecks but they suggest optional dbol for first cycle, deca on a third cycle, nolva only pct. and it's a sticky on our forum. So we tell them to do reseach. Stickes seem like the most logical way to find reliable information right? We tell them to do reseach and they pick a cycle from the list and then get told it's all wrong, despite being a sticky in the steroid cycles section
https://www.eroids.com/forum/steroids-qa/steroid-cycles/how-to-run-a-cycle

Maybe we should update the sticky a bit?

So at the end of the day some peole really do try and use our forum to find info and they get mislead. Others don't even bother and come up with the most idiotic cycles I've ever seen that I can't tell you where they got them from.

TheFlash85's picture

gotta agree with you there mate, i called that shit out on page 2 over a year ago, old and outdated.

irongame427's picture

Ya just a few things need to be changed and it will be a great source of info.
