+ 1 Banned member log

ad

When a high-ranking, respected member receives a ban, you can't help but wonder what happened (Ex. Carlos Danger's recent ban comes to mind). Bans to these folks often lead to conspiracy theories, which are unproductive and a complete waste if time to read about.

A potential solution would be to create a ban log listing the user, the reason for the ban, and the length of ban. I realize certain bans require anonymity but the more transparency that can be provided should result in a reduction of conspiracies.

Another benefit of a ban log will also help provide more clarity for members, especially new ones, about what not to do. Yes, rules are posted and in my opinion, are clear, however, too many people violate them only to be censored or banned. This may help clean up the logs a bit, reducing some of the nonsense we've seen lately and keeping the focus on topics that are beneficial.

I'd love to hear others thoughts and suggestion on how to best address this. Thanks!

I believe there is one under the site log in groups...it's not really updated much though...tbh its just too much work my best advice to you is let's say I'm banned tomorrow and you want to know why...probably 8 out of 10 times hit the magnifying glass search my name arrange by recent posts first and go see my most recent 2-3 posts again 8 times oitta 10 that'll show what I said or did to be banned...out of the remaining 2 of 10 1 is usually private or for their own safety/protection and then your left with that last 1 of 10 and those ones range from private info to too many rules violations to hey they just needed a timeout they'll be back
