+ 1 2nd cycle - 8 week Test Prop/Var

ad
STATS, DESCRIPTION, GOALS

Thanks to everyone who has provided advice so far. This will be my 2nd cycle. 8 weeks of test prop at 100mg eod with 50mg of Var ed for the 8 weeks. My first cycle was 12 weeks test e 500 with a test prop taper at 100 eod. My stats are as follows:
Age: 36
Height: 5"9'
Weight: 180lbs
BF: 11%
Training: 10+ years
My calorie intake is 3500-3700 and my macros are 100g fats, 400g carbs and 300 protein (more like 400 when on cycle). I eat 6 times per day every 2-3 hours. I train 6 days per week with cardio on three of those days. Workouts are typically an hour or so and I alternate body parts aiming to train no body part more than twice per week. My goals for this cycle are to gain 10lbs without excessive water weight. I've never used Var before so I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. For AI I will be using adex at 0.5mg eod. This worked for me in the past but I will adjust as needed. I will start pct 3 days after my last shot of prop. I appreciate all suggestions so please critique as needed. Thanks.

Dump the cardio if you are trying to gain mass. Why burn those calories up doing cardio when they could be used for growth instead. Get rid of the var also. Doesn't fit with your goal. Just eat right and you will grow with 100mg of prop EOD.

Thanks man, I'll drop it to 0.25 and monitor for sides. Appreciate the advice.

I don't think anyone would disagree that it's food first then training brother, certainly not me, but if I ate 5000 calories I would put on quite a bit of fat which is something I want to avoid for a summer cycle. I'll hit 5000 per day for my all out winter bulker for sure.

You should give the link a read. It's a full paper including references.

I agree with you in this. He's got 156lbs of lean muscle at his current weight and BF%. He has TONS of room to improve that sans drugs.

Also he seems to be nearing his natural potential.

"Bodybuilding legend Steve Reeves presented simple formulas for calculating what he considered to be ideal muscular weight. He suggested starting with a base of 160 pounds and adding 5 pounds for every inch of height above 5'5". For people above 6'0", he suggested starting with 200 pounds and adding 10 pounds per inch. Using these formulae, a person 5'9" would have an ideal muscular weight of 180 pounds. A person 6'1" would weigh 210 pounds."

So, gear is not out of the question.

Interesting read bro, thanks for sharing!

T-bol was suggested as a possible alternative to d-bol actually so I've considered that too. I've ordered the var already so I'm invested at this stage. I absolutely hear what you're saying about the calories. 70% diet and all that. I can drop the var if you think it's a bad idea and go with T-bol instead. I'm here to learn and I appreciate advice from those with more experience than myself. Let me know what you think bro.

As someone who has ran both var and tbol at 50mg a day, I can tell you I gained 10 pounds in the first 4weeks of tbol while only running prop alongside it. It's a dry compound and was perfect for my needs and yours. However, you can run the var too which gave me better hardness and excellent vascularity but not as much mass. Was running it on a cut though so take that for what it's worth. They're both great compounds and would suit your needs for this cycle. The only really big difference I noticed is the hit to your wallet with var lol

Taking in account his age, weight:height, and how he states he responds to his current caloric intake then yes, yes it is sound advice. He's looking to put on lean weight and a 5000 calorie surplus would put more than just lean weight, along with water which he specifically said he didn't want. He has a modest dose of prop and var, he isn't trying to run a 19-nor here. That's why he wants 10 lbs and not 30. For a 5'9 male 4000 calories is plenty to hit his goals.

Looks like a solid cycle. If you keep consistent with your diet and training plan you can hit 10 lbs easy. Also you can play around with your test dose (maybe up to 150 eod) if you feel good and feel like you can handle it. Good luck bro and make sure to get bloods done to get in tune with your body! +1 for doing your research, listing a strong cycle, and hitting all the points in your description. Keep us updated.

Thanks man! I'll get bloods done before I start to check my levels and again after pct to make sure I've recovered! It's hard to get bloods done where I live without raising eyebrows but as long as the results are 'normal' it should be fine. It's a pain in the ass not being able to get bloods done mid cycle to get an accurate picture of levels but I know what to watch out for in terms of high e2 so I should be okay.

I posted a suggested cycle in the forums and got advice on var because it was aligned with my goal to avoid excessive bloat. I had considered dbol but dropped it in place of var for the reason above. I will keep it for my winter bulker and then cut next spring. I'm looking for lean mass as much as possible this time because it's a summer cycle.. My diet on cycle will be 4000 with the increased protein. That's more than enough for me to gain weight. I'm gaining 1lb every week today with no AAS and 3700 calories. I'm only 180lbs to begin with so to maintain weight my requirement is only 2900 per day. What do you think of var in this context? Any alternatives you can suggest and the reasons why? I appreciate your input.
