+ 4 Nothing Beats the Basics

Another meal in the making. Chicken and white rice with a lil bbq sauce (in my Ronnie Coleman voice). At this point it’s just fuel. Like many, I’ve learned to enjoy the simplicity with my meals. Every now and then I may indulge but man…I love this
What’s everyone eating tonight?

Korean beef and white rice. So easy to make. Brown some ground beef. Mix some brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic (fresh or jar), sesame oil, and chives. Mix in with beef atop some white rice. First time trying it and couldn't believe how good it is! I just googled how to make Korean bbq ground beef and the first recipe was fire.
Needs tits and probably some hot sauce
Put that shit on the grill you savage
Lmao!!
Sux it’s been storming all day where I’m at, thankfully tomorrow I’ll get a chance to grill up in bulk like usual
We are the same guy I think. I marinade and grill 4-5 lbs of chicken breast at a time and then eat the same thing every day like a maniac.
Lol we might just be bro, name checks out.
Bulk grilling is super convenient though, as long as I’m gaining I’ll keep sticking to the same thing like a robot. We are machines! We eat to GROW!
Yum! Been frying in ghee lately. Love it. Chomped down some homemade raviolis stuffed with ground turkey, ricotta and kale. Using that ancient grains sort of flour this past year, really good stuff.
That sounds damn good. Gonna have to give that recipe a try bro
Go for it! Love kale, super nutrient dense. Can't stand it raw but cooked I'm all for it. Really good in a spicy jambalaya kale soup too. I'm huge on beans for a protein source. Some Cajun sausage in there and I'm in heaven.
That looks perfectly cooked. Nice job!
Tonight was 8oz ground beef (drained and rinsed), 100g of pasta, and carrots/onions/tomatoes. Im back on my bullshit, so chicken and rice 2 meals a day, and my red meat for dinner.
I gotta start incorporating more greens into my diet. I like the spinach/ground beef combo
Same. I rotate em, broccoli, green beans, spinach, asparagus. Then once or twice a week mix it up with something like that combo i did tonight. When I’m on a diet, that’s good eating
8 ounces of Ground Chicken, with 160 grams of Calrose Rice then topped with 60 grams of sugar free Ketchup, a dash of Siracha and a few table spoons of Pico De Gallo. I eat this twice a day right now, this is 2 out of my 4 meals.
Currently still in a cut lol
Had some ground beef and rice for dinner. My breakfast and lunch were… Chicken and Rice. Investing in some low/no calorie sauces are the move tho.
What are you seasoning that with or you a no season simplicity guy?
Tonight I used some Sazón Complete with a little black pepper. Usually though, I prefer to grill my chicken plain and then lightly toss it in BBQ sauce when it’s almost done. Simple but still gives it plenty of flavor.
You see Mr.Pumped for us white folk, those little brown bits on the chicken is what we consider to be “seasoning.”
I can’t count how many foods I came to realize I only hated because my mom would just throw em in a pan, cook the fuck out of it, and then put it on a plate. Like pork chops for example. You ever had a cooked to 195 internal pork chop with no seasoning on it? Stronger than any glp-1 for appetite suppression…
You took me back to 1981-1997.
Lmao I visualized this while reading it. Sounds like absolute torture man
I mean we were fed every night, which some people can’t say they get that luxury. But fuck man. I’ll give yall another one: The meatloaf with just plain tomato paste from the can across the top then cooked so long it would blacken in spots. At least it kept me from growing up as a fat kid and primed me for a legit bodybuilding diet during prep, I can just hammer plain white fish and rice and my wife will look at me in disgust wondering how tf I can eat that several times a day every day until I’m show lean.
My mother was a horrific cook whilst she lived with me and my dad - could never be arsed putting any effort into anything whatsoever. Lunch was ALWAYS fuckin Beans on toast which is bland and boring as hell, tea was reformed grissly lamb steaks or sausages - always frozen. Lumpy, hard mash potato that had no moisture whatsoever. UUuuuugghhh
My Mum cooked everything on the wrong side of flavor town. At least half of her dishes she called Fred as there were no words to describe it. Even the dog would go sit in the corner rather than come near the table. When I was seven, she first got the cancer, and I took over the kitchen and got a cat called Fred, so her food became a running joke. For a fast BBQ I use KICK'N chicken. I keep a new one in the car for when I get invited over or tailgaters. The gift that keeps on giving.
You have a real way of "taking the piss" outta me, you know that?
Are you Fackin Muggin me off??!!
I was going to run that beans and toast joke right into the ground and then continue beating it like a dead horse. Now that I know some more press1 lore, I gotta figure out something else.
LMAO!!! In all fairness I honestly find the beans on toast jokes funny!
Have you actually tried the Heinz Baked Beans in tomato sauce though? @Drexyl on here did and he likes them - you just need to use them as a side with things like Sausages, Fried Eggs, Bacon etc and they are really nice. Baked Beans on Toast I think was a meal used in the war times as its so cheap to buy and is quite nutritious.
You need to look for them in a World Food shop - they are imported from the UK
They’re mild in flavor but good. I’m definitely a fan of them. I keep a couple cans ready at all times just in case I get a craving lol
I'm not big into baked beans, only ones I'll eat is my wife's because she loads them up with brown sugar and bacon. That wartime story is what I've heard also.
Did ur mom lay some bacon slices across the top of the meatloaf like it was 1973? Mine did. And it was ketchup not tomato paste.
We had similar moms sounds like..
Hah I wish bacon makes everything better
Bacon??? Haha
And i complained of growing up on Kix cereal and mom making pitchers of powdered milk to go with it. Peanut butter in a can so thick we would add oil and whip it in it
Don't forget the cream of wheat + molasses jk mom dukes always bought the large cans of juice. The kind you have to puncture in two spots. Not easy to chug from without making a mess. Which was frowned upon. Peanut butter in a can? Lol
Is that why white people eat pork chops with applesauce? Now it all makes sense lol
I guess I may not be white bread after all, as I have never seen this. How do white people even put it on the grill. Season salt and Korn on the Kob for me.
100% yes
Shit we’re likely to put fucking raisins on it
Probably just salt & pepper lol
Hell nah brother lol I could never
I got you bro, a fellow man of culture under his belt lol
