Ghost protein flavors are over rated IMO, but if you order from their website and sign up for autoship, you get 25% off. And at least you know with Ghost the quality is there. They only have two flavors in 5lb tubs, but its a good deal if youre not picky

I was ordering 5lb tubs direct from Nutricost’s website with 40% off code on a $100 tub ($60). Now a couple weeks ago they upped their price to $130 and all I could find was a 30% off code ($91). Shit is crazy.

No Costco near me, but we have a Sam’s. Maybe I’ll check there and use a buddy’s membership card.

Supply and demand. There is no conspiracy. There are flavorless whey sodas, protein lattes at Starbucks, and all kinds of other creative ways companies are adding whey to meet the demand. It is in large part due to the GLP-1 revolution that is occurring.

TRUTH!!! When I look through the Protein website I use, next to virtually every product it says GLP-1 friendly.

I also think that Protein Companies are taking Advantage of people too - they know how much people now desire their products so they slowly inch their prices up and up, normally by just £1 over here so that customers don't notice as much. They keep upping them to see how much people are truly willing to pay - then when they see a drop in sales they settle the price of a product around that level for 6 months.

Costco (optimum bag) is how we go. $75 a bag here in Idaho.

When you add up the cost of Steroids, Gym memberships, Protein supplements, Cycle support supplements you realise this is truly not a cheap hobby or sport to do. I spend hundreds every month. Gone are the days of training natty at home and drinking a pint of milk after training LMAO

Costco has optimum nutrition bag that has 80 servings for less than 70$. I saw the same bag at a nutrition store for 200..

It's the same in Italy. I've been buying 5 kg of protein from the same website for years. Back in January I paid €80 for them, but now I had to buy only 2.5 kg for €70 because they've become way too expensive.

Brother for $130 you could buy 130 pounds of chicken drum sticks and each one has 20g of protein and that will last you way longer

Please do not rely on a protein supplements.

To answer your question , private equity in concert with major corporations has moved in on the Whey Protein space.
So price has skyrocketed while quality has plummeted.
Just eat food bro.
It is everything the body needs

Yep, and now it seems there is protein everything. For example “protein” pop tarts that only have like 3g more protein than the original lol

Costco has some protein bags like 5.5lbs for $80

Bro 16 year olds have been tren addicted whey sucking “body builders” for decades. Ask me how I know.. it’s because I was a 16 year old tren addicted whey sucking body builder way back before Reddit was ever a thing. Lmao!

You could also reverse that Statement and question how a Vial of Testosterone is more expensive than ANY tub of protein powder given it costs no more than $1 to make including the vial lol

SeeOhShow's picture

All the companies are buying up all the whey (causing a whey shortage) and making all these bullshit “protein” snacks and foods. It’s all the rage to put the word “protein” on food labels these days and charge double for it

Perfect example: have you seen the “protein” pop tarts??

Why the fuck would I want protein in my pop tart

Khandum's picture

Fucking protein cheese puffs lol. Pisses me off cause it’s just marketing to make fat people feel better, cause we all know they act allergic to chicken and rice. We are yet again getting taxed for lazy people.

I just bought some of the protein Doritos. Don’t hate, it’s the only junk food I have had in 6 months. I have like 5 chips at a time after my nasty ass tuna.
