+ 1 Gym Shoes
ad
Sadly, my GoRuck Ballistics are on their last leg and it’s time for some new gym shoes. I was looking at the Metcon 10’s as the older models seem well enough reviewed and Nike has them for 25% off right now. Primary use is for lifting in my basement gym, rucking, and walking the Shiba. She’s a killer as you can see so need some shoes to cover it all.
Always like getting feedback from outside the influencer infested space of the internet. Should I be looking at Reebok/Adidas/Rogue instead?

I just go to the nike outlet and buy some $39 shoes although i am partial to the free run series they are very light and confortable.
I like no shoes for everything I can get away with lifting running day hikes
I just got these Under Armour Reign 6 for the gym and I absolutely love them. Pricey, but they are my favorite gym shoe thus far.
I have been using barefoot shoes for over four years to help gain foot strength and get rid of my bunions. They have been working amazingly! They look funky at first, but once you squat in those bad boys, you will understand the difference between a pointy, restricted shoe and a barefoot shoe.
the brand is "splay shoes"

These are fuckin dope
Yes, and they are extremely comfortable. My bunion pain went away, and my squat and deadlift form improved drastically. I feel like my feet are glued to the floor.
I’ll check em out. Appreciate the recommendation!
I've been using these bad boys. They are strictly for squats and deadlifts. They have great grip and a solid wedge under the heal. They have a strap that keeps them tight to my foot. I bought them off Amazon for about $45 and I'm glad I did.
just ordered some of these exact ones but in black... Iv been using my wore out Merrills, Heel is about to fall out
Can’t argue with that price!
My god that shiba is cute
Yeah she’s a real sweetheart. And the way she crosses her paws… my heart can barely take it some days.
I lift bare foot. Home gym.
ON cloud flyer for walking/36lb weighted vest.
Air Force ones are a staple.
“Slippers” Hawaiian for flip flops 90% of the time
I do barefoot for calf raises, I can get a deeper stretch
I’ve been squatting barefoot for awhile now with no issue, but I do hip hip thrusts right after squatting and have to put shoes on. It’s a mild inconvenience but my timing is so tight in the morning that I’d rather find a shoe I can put on and keep through the whole workout.
Bruh, did you just say that you do "hip thrusts"?
Damn straight. Not trying to look like some Hank Hill pancake ass yokel.
Please never do hip thrusts bro. It's so silly.
Just hack & smith squat with your feet forward like a normal person please.
You should upload some physique shots to back up all the advice you give. Seriously.
I'm sure instead of doing so, you will just try to deflect and attact. I know your tactic.
But I'm sure a few of us would like to see the man behind all the advice
For rucking, maybe check out some Solomon mids tops
Love me some reebok. I have both the white and blacks of these. Decent price point and super comfy. They tend to run a bit hott, other than that I love them.
Cant go wrong with some high top vans.
Just got a pair of these strike transit mids to try. Will see how they go.
Appreciate the input and I’ll definitely check out the Solomon’s!
Solomons are amazing for rucking/hiking/adventuring. I use them for my weekly ruck, 4 miles 35-50lbs.
Man I always do a fair bit of cardio after my workouts so I tend to enjoy a two for one combo. The Nike Rnrs v5 are low-key really great lifting shoes as well. Toe sprall isn't huge but much bigger than the normal Nike sprall.
Converse all stars. 100%
High tops. All the colors.
Man of culture
Vans > Chucks
This!! These are the closet to barefoot lifting . Me personally I need insoles cause my one leg longer than the other and converse are the perfect way to get close to barefoot with having to wear shoes
Wrestling shoes mate. Those are about as close as you will get to bare feel at the gym but still complete with all the stability and traction you will ever need.
But chucks are cheaper lol
Give "Splay Shoes" a try! They are the absolute best for doing squats. They have barefoot technology, and they don't look as ugly as other barefoot shoes.
Check my comment above for a picture!
Some sharp looking kicks they got
