+ 3 30 yrs male considering a first cycle for aesthetics
Hi everyone,
I’m a 30-year-old male considering my first anabolic steroid cycle, but I haven’t made up my mind yet. My goal is purely aesthetic—I want to improve my physique, not compete in bodybuilding or powerlifting.
I’ve been training consistently for several years, currently weigh 152 lb (69 kg), I’m 5’8” (173 cm), and I already pay attention to my nutrition. I’m planning to dial my diet and recovery in even further before making any decision.
I’ve attached my current physique so you can judge where I’m starting from.
(I couldn't find where I add my pictures lol I attached them in this canva link bellow:

- Based on my current physique, do you think I’m at a point where steroids would make sense?
- What are the biggest mistakes first-time users make?
- Which roids should I take? What would be a first good cycle?
I’m fully aware that anabolic steroids carry risks and that there is no side-effect-free cycle. I’m not looking for unrealistic promises.
Thanks in advance.

I commend you for putting yourself out there and asking for advice. Here's mine:
Based on your current physique, I don't think a cycle is your next step. You mention that you've trained consistently for years, but when you look back to those years can you honestly say you've been consistent in INTENSITY as well? Consistently adding weight and reps? Putting time in on heavy compound movements? If not, dial that in first. If you learn to be a fucking madman with intensity in the gym while natural, imagine being an intense madman on cycle. I've been lifting for over 30 years and I still get butterflies in my stomach on compound days. Because I'm always pushing the weight and or reps up. Always right on the edge of my capabilities.
Biggest mistake is ignoring advice from experienced dudes and adding a bunch of dangerous compounds that aren't needed.
I hope you take my advice and from the others here and when you're ready to start a cycle just do testosterone 300 mg to 500 mg per week. A nice long bulk cycle can be done on just test and relatively safe while you figure out how your body responds.
I wish you the best.
Hey man, welcome.
First, you look solid but you are still light for your height. If you want a cycle, you need to be ready. Here is my advice:
Don't rush. Your biggest mistake would be starting too early. If your diet is not perfect, gear will not fix it.
First cycle. Keep it simple. Just testosterone. No other compounds. You need to see how your body reacts to test first. Do not add anything else.
Blood work. This is not optional. You must check your blood before, during, and after. If you don't do this, you are playing a dangerous game.
PCT. Have your stuff ready before you start. Do not start a cycle if you don't know how to recover.
Steroids change your body, but they also change your life. Research more and don't listen to gym bros who give you crazy advice. Stay safe and focus on eating more first.
Based on my current physique, do you think I’m at a point where steroids would make sense?
No.
What are the biggest mistakes first-time users make?
Taking more than the minimum effective dose.
Which roids should I take?
None.
What would be a first good cycle?
Generally speaking, something between 300-500mg of a long-ester testosterone, split into 2-3 doses weekly for a total of 12-16 weeks.
What Big Poppa said. Not yet, my dude.
1) bloodwork brother. this is first and last. Try goodlabs, do men's hormones, CMP, CBC and full lipid profile. That should cover 90% of what you need to check while being enhanced. If natural total T sits above 600-700 I would not consider test honestly. Simply fix your nutrition, training, cardio and sleep, doing those things will naturally bring up your test levels and if anything throw in Enclomiphene so you don't mess with your natural production nor your fertility.
2) get your supplements ready before starting. Omega-3, magnesium, vitamin d3/k2, boron, zinc, tudca, NAC, milk thistle, etc, etc, etc based off your bloodwork grab supplements on whatever you need to get specific biomarkers into optimal range
3) select your ester of test (cyp, eth, or prop), start at a low dose meaning between 100-150mg per week and titrate up based off how your body responds. Run labs again in 6 weeks to keep an eye on E2 and see where that dose puts your total T and free T.
4) If everything is going well, after 8 weeks on test add in a low side effect profile DHT derivative aka Primo or Anavar. I love primo, it's very safe, keeps e2 in check for high aromatizers, and the side effect profile is very low. With anavar you just gotta keep an eye on your liver profile.
5) enjoy the process, don't rush, do it right and it will pay off. None of this works if you dont supplement correctly, keep diet dialed, cardio in check, proper training and excellent sleep.
Hope this helps!
Good advice man. I agree 100%. bloodwork is the most important thing. If you do not have good diet and sleep do not start steroids. Start slow and keep it simple.
