+ 11 Statin therapy efficacy

ad

Just wanted to share my experience with how impactful a statin in conjunction with Ezetimibe has been on cholesterol markers.

So I have always dealt with hereditary cholesterol issues. It has always been the typical high LDL with Low HDL, and a poor Apo-B score.

I’ve tried about everything from supplements to additional cardio to dramatic diet changes, and nothing has ever put my cholesterol at a level anyone should really be okay with.

I made the decision to implement 5 mg of rosuvastin in conjunction with 10 mg of Ezetimibe daily. I have been on it for about two months now, and the bloods speak for themselves. I am still waiting on the Apo-B results, but with the trend on other markers one would expect a dramatic improvement in it as well.

I know statins get a bad wrap for all the possible sides muscle pain, weakness, darkened urine, etc… I can only speak to my personal experience, but starting at a low dose and assessing bloods has mitigated any potential sides for me. I attached current liver markers to show those were not impacted either.

Hope this is insightful for anyone who might be on the fence.

Glad to hear you’re experiencing good results. I had the same med prescribed a month ago but hadn’t started taking it. My cholesterol got fucked earlier in cycle from orals so I went the otc supp route (diets already good) a month ago and my numbers improved markedly well in 30 days but still out of range. Makes me nervous but I hate taking prescriptions. I literally finished splitting the pills into quarters earlier today and going to start really low (1.25 daily) + ezitamibe and see where I’m at in another 30 days. Definitely have my own mental hangup about statins but your story really helps. Hope things continue well for you.

I get it, but at the same time I’m sure if you’re on here you’re injecting UGL compounds. When you look at it like that a necessary ancillary to mitigate the risk of cardiovascular disease is barely a piss in the pot when it comes to the other things one might take.

Like anything play it smart and listen to your body/bloodwork. Don’t neglect your bodies most vital organ, due to a belief not founded in evidence. Good luck brother and I hope you get them numbers right where ya want them!

Same here brother. Last year abob was 92 but regular cholesterol was always good. I started 2.5 rosuvastain daily and brought down to 70. Now I'm on 5mg daily. Lpa <10 but primary ran particle size on me and wasn't so great. Funny thing is, they say apob is a better indicator than particle size but just to make my primary and cardiologist happy and family history.

Great man glad to hear you’ve had positive results. There is a lot of back and forth about what the superior markers are regarding cholesterol.

I think the best approach is to just measure everything within reason, and address each marker. Some of us are predisposed to poor cholesterol from birth, and most of us predisposed or not, exacerbate the issue with compounds or lifestyle. Just keep dialing in your protocol, you’ll get that shit where you want it.

On Atavortstatin 40mg and take 600mg of COq10 daily and no muscle aches or negative sides and cholesterol is ok with a Paternal history. Below stats are before highering dose from 20mg to 40mg. So next bloods will be better.

Total cholesterol 151
LDL 112
HDL 18
Triglycerides 100

Yuzy2784's picture

Very curious to see what next set of bloods bring. Has your HDL always been low or is that due to current compound usage?

I dont know if its chronically hereditary or only from AAS because i really started seeing my doctor annually after starting and my father having high got them off the radar of finding under causes

What made you choose rosuva over pitvastatin?

Family history indicated a better response to rosuvastatin

Nice man I'm glad it's working for you with no sides. I have pitvastatin and ezterimibe on hand for my next blast

Doc just put me on the exact same dose of rosuvastatin. Not that my numbers were terrible, but there was definitely room for improvement. Knock on wood no side effects so far, we didn’t expect any at such a low dose, follow up bloodwork in a couple months. We’re in the same boat with the hereditary complication. Numbers look great bud, keep it up!

Yuzy2784's picture

Start low and adjust as necessary the proper way to do it!

Hereditary anything sucks man, for months I did everything I could to have great cholesterol. I went in for labs thinking they were gonna be great, and they were dog shit. After that is when I made the decision to go this route.

Cholesterol like blood pressure is one of the markers that is silent, but if left untreated will kill you dead as fuck well before your expiration date.

Good luck on getting your numbers right man

Yep same with me, I tried everything I could to get good cholesterol and nothing worked and yes I tried to get good lipid numbers before gear as well and no dice. I had to go this route as well. It’s so weird there is a stigma against statin use, most of my family hate on them it’s so silly.

There is nothing wrong with utilizing modern medicine when you have exhausted all other routes my man. This is what the stuff was designed for!

This looks fucking amazing bro, my doctor is making me jump through hoops right now to get a script for Crestor, but it’s gonna be worth it. I can’t wait to see my cholesterol to look like this. Is any of this prescription or are you just buying ugl?

And remember ezetimibe is not a statin. It actually helps block your body from absorbing cholesterol in your intestines. Works wonderfully and has basically zero side effects. Anyone on gear should be using it

Yuzy2784's picture

Correct, sorry I should’ve specified that. It’s shown to reduce LDL an additional 5-10 percent with some people reporting 15. Like you stated it’s a great compound that should be more widely utilized!

I wasn’t knocking your post. Just making sure other people knew because you’re correct there is this weird stigma about being on a statin. We take so many other drugs but apparently we draw the line on statin lol. I take pitavastatin and ezetimibe. Keeps my ldl in the 30s, which is low enough to reverse atherosclerosis according to studies. Not trying to die from gear use

Yuzy2784's picture

I know you weren’t man that’s not how I interpreted.

I couldn’t agree more, I take these in addition to Telmisartan.

I like to look at the risk vs reward on these topics. So what is the risk of poor cholesterol over the course of 20+ years vs the risk of implementing a low dose well studied drug that can correct said condition. Give me the statin all day!

Compounds and dosages vary from person to person, but proper implementation far outweighs the risk of neglecting poor cholesterol levels.

Damn bro those are some pretty labs I don’t think mine have ever looked that good even at my healthiest not of gear

For context I’ve been cruising for awhile. Cruise dose is no more than 200mg test a week, and sometimes I’ll implement 100mgs of mast. Im stoked with these markers man!

I’ve been trying to address all markers prior to this growth phase. Now if I can just get my fucking hematocrit and hemoglobin in check!

Nattokinase 16k give day has lowered mine pretty dramatically, could also be the telmisartan helping too. I think citrus bergamot also does

I was running nattokinaise at 4k a day, but will up the dose to 16k to try it out. I don’t know what it is here lately but even on my cruise hematocrit has stayed about 52-53 and hemoglobin at 17.

I’ve never struggled with it before on previous blasts. Was planning to run lower dose eq for the first time, but I’ve about ruled that out due to this. Thanks for the info brother!
