+ 3 Crushing the log book! What do you guys use?
ad
What do you guys use to track your workouts? Been using the Boostcamp app for the last few months and really enjoying it. Super easy to design a program, super easy to make adjustments on the fly mid workout if you need to make changes, calculates your set weights based on your previous week and the progression you set, tracks your PRs. Fuckin good feeling when you plug your set numbers in and get that "New PR" notification.

I use my notes app. I’ve gotten to a point where I’m only tracking load on my main lifts that I’m deliberately trying to progress and everything else I track volume. I’ve found a lot of utility manipulating volume, sometimes session to session, based on how my performance is trending.
I use Hevy, but I will definitely check out Bootcamp.
Yes Hevy is the shit
Only time I really track is when I’m trying to increase my 1RM for a particular lift. Usually run a modified 5/3/1 for that. Use my notes app.
Otherwise I run a pretty basic setup that I really don’t track.
Everyday is back day.
Alternate days between push and legs.
At least one strength conditioning day a week (carries, sled work, high reps, rower, assault bike).
Appreciate the post I need to really hone into a program rather than jumping all over, I’m gonna give this app a try. We got technology at our fingertips why not use it.
Highly recommend it. Use chat gpt to fine tune your program then just plug it in. My progressive overload is built in and it automatically adjusts each week. Shows you what you did the week before so you can say fuck that I'm beating that shit today.
That’s what I need in my life again, definitely beats thehell out of my old school composition notebooks I always felt like such a tool and I almost always inevitably spilt bcaa, pep, or protein on them and they ended up in the trash. Digital sounds so much better
Just my notes app
I walk in, look around and then figure it out as I'm going. Some days I'll do a heavy muscle group only, other days I'll do some intense fully body circuit training. I like to keep my body guessing
Winging it is more natural than the rigidity of following an AI scripted work out routine
Normally 100% agree, I really wanted to see how much progress I could make following a rigid progressive overload plan. I've made insane progress in both strength and body comp since February, and plan on running it til the end this cycle at the end of July. I can definitely manage it for a few more weeks, but I'm looking forward to just doing what touches my soul in the gym again.
I use fitbod and tweak it with Chat GPT. Noticed a big difference
Chat gpt helped me fine tune my current program. Probably 80% is what I wrote and 20% is "fuck I didn't think of that, that's good" from chat gpt. Best assistant I ever had
Anyone else have weight lifting autism and remembers every PR?
I remember 2. 225 on bench, which was a milemarker back then and then my max, I remember the moment but I forgot what the actual weight was! either 435 or 455x3. I remember that one because I was in a gym, alone, no spotter, middle of winter and the thought crossed my mind "why am I doing this?" and I decided then not to lift super heavy anymore. I also got MRSA because it was kind of a gross gym, smelled funky, used to be a church apparently.
That’s sounds like my kinda place!! I live in a small town with 1 gym where most of the people who go to my gym are soccer moms or people just trying to lose weight. Probably a total of 7 people use barbells. I’m trying to body build but to them I must look like a maniac. I wish badly for a gym like this. A reverse PF. Lol
Approach old schools in the area, especially ones that recently renovated and see if they have old gym equipment. A lot of times they have it just stored somewhere because they have no where to put it and no one wants to buy it in the local area.
I used to! Then having kids cured me and they stole those brancells
I use Google Sheets. I build the template so all I need to fill out is reps completed and weight.
This is new to me downloading now thanks man
NP bro, it's definitely mobile focused, but way easier to do the initial program design from a computer. Once it's set up everything is easy af on your phone
I use HEVY
I use hevy too. Love it, even broke down and got the pro or whatever so i could setup a 6 day split.
Used that one for a bit before settling on Boostcamp, just didn't care for the user interface.
Lifted “1M Lbs”…. Sick!!!
It was nice watching that number climb each week, I guess I have to wait til I hit 2 million before it changes again lol.
I just mark down my PR lifts in my note pad app on my phone. Been doing it forever now, and the system i have for it works great, never really seen a need to use any marketplace apps.
I did the same for years. Got the job done but i figured someone had to have come up with a better way so I started trying different apps. Probably tried 4 or 5 before I settled on this one and haven't gone back.
I might have to try it out sometime and see what's up with it
