+ 1 Low Natty IGF1??
ad
I did some blood work about a week ago. T3 is slightly high (35 is high end and I was 37) but T4 is fine so not really worried about that. ALT/AST were slightly elevated for liver but I’ve had those always slightly high since I was younger. I implemented liv52, and a bunch of natty supps to help before testing again. I don’t drink at all.
What is throwing me for a loop is low IGF1. I’ve never seen this for myself before. The symtoms make a ton of sense. Genetically my mother has a ton of issues including liver issues. So I’m wondering low IGF and AST/ALT goes hand in hand?
Any thoughts for anyone with low IGF?

I learned that natural IGF levels can vary significantly. Most people get it done once and never do it again so they don’t know this. I almost did the same. I first checked mine in my mid 20s before my first run on GH and it was 124. Better than yours but still really low for someone my age. And I ran GH for years and eventually took a break from everything. I was ready to jump back on GH last summer and for some reason decided to check my baseline again. I figured if I was 124 in my mid 20s then abused GH for years I’m probably gonna be way lower now a decade later but much to my surprise I was 304. Technically out of normal range. So what I’m getting at is based on my experience I wouldn’t put too much stock into 1 test. If you’re really curious test again in a couple weeks or something.
But any strain on your liver is going to impact your igf-1. Likely significantly. If you have non alcoholic fatty liver disease that’s definitely going to cause you to produce less igf-1. The systemic IGF-1 we measure in blood tests is produced by the liver. Luckily systemic IGF-1 seems to be worth fuck all. I’m a high responder to GH and have always had very high igf-1 levels on GH but never really got a whole lot out of GH in terms of muscle growth. On the other hand there’s guys who get very little igf-1 increase on GH as measured via blood test but get sick results. Local IGF-1 is what’s important. So if you’re planning to run GH don’t be surprised if you don’t see a huge spike. That doesn’t mean you’re not going to get good results. I would still expect some increase though. But you may not break 200ng/ml, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Local IGF-1 is where the magic happens and that can’t be measured by blood test.
Jrihard89Copy. I see this is why the 3 knee surgeries I’ve had this last year have all been awful recovery!
Thankfully the fatty liver can be fixed as I keep dropping weight! I am on GH rn, started back up after the blood work and plan on staying on. It’ll be interesting to see where I land at 4IUs and I’ll go up and test at 6. Especially if there is no real IGF increase at 4 vs 6. Even 200 I bet would make me feel much better than 58.
I do also have IGFLR3 on the way. I plan to run pre workout. I appreciate your comment!
Yes mate I believe high Liver enzymes often go hand in hand with low IGF1 serum levels. Seen it many times on SI pages where guys running HGH kits will produce low IGF1 results and therefore accuse the HGH kits of being shit. Then the HGH kit is tested itself and found to be fine. It stands to reason since IGF1 is directly produced in the Liver. So if your liver is impaired even slightly then this result won't be as good. Thats why it can often be better to just run IGF1 - LR3 instead of HGH as this will bypass the liver and just produce a constant higher IGF1 level over 24 hours rather than a HGH produced impulse that only lasts 30 minutes at a time, and is dependant on your Liver health.
When you say your ALT and AST are naturally high - what kind of levels are you talking of?
Jrihard89It’ll be interesting to see after a while on this GH at 4 ius what I’m at. 58 for a natural baseline is frustrating.
Very minimal. I found blood work from a younger age around 16 on the my chart app. I was having some stomach issues and I got blood work. My liver enzymes were slightly elevated. ALT Normal range was 9-46 and I was 52. About 5 years ago blood work had me 57. Blood work from last week has my ALT at 55. So I’m around 52- 57 it looks like always.
Interesting enough, I called my sister today. She’s 34. Health nut, eats phenomenal. Weights, yoga, and cycling consistently. In great shape, has a non alcoholic fatty liver but 0 scars. So the doc isn’t worried. Sounds like our dad has one too.. he’s a marathon runner, and in great shape. Sounds like a genetic issue and I have a non alcoholic fatty liver.
Liv52 is a supp that I used in the past and has worked wonders so I picked some up along with milk thistle and a few other goodies and start using it to try and see if I can get it lower to 52 or less. Only issue is I don’t believe the slight elevation I have rn is enough to sink my IGF like this.
There’s better supplements for liver support. Might want to try a run with TUDCA and NAC. And definitely stay far away from all methylated orals.
Jrihard89taking TUDCA now! So liv52, TUDCA, and Milk. I’ll grab some NAC too.
I plan on getting blood work done again soon. Along with weight loss I should be getting liver enzymes in order!
I've used Double Liv 52 before and in all honesty I think its just Snake oil - way better off with TUDCA and things of that nature rather than Himalayan Herbs not none of us really know anything about.
Jrihard89I started to believe in liv52 when I saw someone I know well get bloods after some heavy anadrol and in 4 weeks his enzymes were fixed with just liv52. To me it’s cheap and why the heck not.
Sweet enough the TUDCA I got off Amazon has NAC too in the caps. So I’m getting both.
