Thank you for adding me to the group. God has always blessed me with everything I needed and most of what I wanted. Hope everyone has a blessed day, week, and year

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

My testimony post on here is a good watch. Have to have a good speaker though

Man, great testimony. Iv seen it so many times GOD is never done with us and he’s patient, waiting until we finally get to that surrendering point. I spent the first 27 years of my life hell bent on burning the world to the ground and punishing anyone that got in the way. I eventually ended up sitting at a bar in a clubhouse think how boring my life was how tired I was of the same thing night after night. I reached a point I didn’t care anymore, I asked GOD is this it, is this the plan for me. I told him I was done, tired, ready for something else. A couple days later I was laid up ready to die from a weekend bender a message
“I like your tattoos” changed the corse of my life. Iv got buddy’s that have spent more time in prison than out that are now leading bible study’s and small groups. The way Dad works is insane and incredible

Complete surrender. Ill keep you in my prayers

Anybody else struggling with whether it’s ok to use roids and be a Christian

Ba ding's picture

I follow the rule of moderation. Gear doesn’t come before my faith or family. As I understand it, the bible teaches that anything can be bad if you overindulge. It’s ok to have a drink it’s not ok to be sloppy drunk and beat your wife and kids. In my opinion they are to enhance, if they start to do anything else it’s time to take a break

Tbh I do at times. I worry about vanity

Pumped_'s picture

Dont mix up vanity with self worth or self confidence. Vanity is on a whole different level.

replacing devotion to God with a craving for worldly admiration, often stemming from pride and leading to self-idolatry or empty glory (vainglory).

Thank you for saying that to me. I needed to hear it. I do get the two confused and I think I do because I get my confidence and self worth thrown in my face and accused of vanity by my wife sometimes

Do you put your looks before everything and everyone you come in contact with? I don’t think it’s a problem to want to look and present the best version of yourself you possibly can. Don’t forget to exercise and build your relationship with Christ as much as your body and your good in my opinion

rhino82's picture

I don’t put my looks in front of everyone and everything but I do fight pride and vanity and at times focus on how I look more than I focus on my spiritual life. That is the battle I fight

Ba ding's picture

You’ve acknowledged it and confessed it by putting it on here, thats the first steps to solving/growing. Sounds like your already on the right approach to me

Thank you brother

Any time, keep up the good work

Anything you put before God we should struggle with. Is it causing a stumbling block in your worship or faith then you should stop. Treatment involving sex hormones is not anti-biblical. Now in the case for intentionally subverting "gender norms" than there may be a struggle. It is possible it falls under ceremonial law that was abolished in the new testament but the moral laws were kept for christians. While ceremonial law was symbolic and transitory, moral law remains binding. Yet i still dont believe old testament ceremonial law even covers "steroids". Treat your body as a temple of God, if gym keeps you off drugs and getting drunk and sinning i believe you are ok

Amen
