+ 1 Ultra-processed Milk
Have any of you been downing the new(ish) ultra-processed milk products like Fairlife and Nurri? 150 calories for 30 grams of protein (accordingly to google, about 80% casein, 20% whey)?
Since I started picking these up at Costco (there is always a sale for Nurri making it $1.25 per can, making it about 4 cents per gram of protein), I've really cut back on my protein powder. I still take a scoop with a Nurri in the morning to break the fast and quickly get some protein in my veins, and I'll do the same after lifting. So, there is still need of the quick acting whey. But my casein needs are 100% taken care of now. Plus it is just tastier and easier.
It has been a real game changer, especially since I am running reta and food is far less appealing.

Fairlife smelled like rotten eggs to me. Never could get past it. Ill stick to my Almond Milk when if I drink milk.
It’s not really processed it’s ran through a shit ton of filters. And it’s sterilized instead of pasteurized. To get that you inject steam directly into the milk the take the water back out through a seperator at the back of a VTIS system.
Arnold said, Milk is for babies...
Bobdole,in no way am I calling you a babie. Just repeating a famous line from the legend
unseen423Fairlife chocolate milk is the shit! Also really like Pioneer Pastures A2 that they sell at Target.
Bam
Crazy how easy a half gallon of fairlife chocolate milk goes down.
I can't keep that stuff in the house or it'll be gone in 24 hours. I do however buy the bottles that are 150 cal for 30g of protein and the fat free stuff for making ninja creami ice cream and overnight oats.
robinmoron23Man, those Nurri cans from Costco are dangerous. I used to be a protein powder purist, shaking that chalky mess in a blender bottle like a caveman, but once you taste that ultra-filtered milk it’s game over. It literally tastes like melted ice cream or the milk left over in a bowl of Cocoa Puffs.
I’m on the same boat with the appetite suppression—sometimes the thought of chewing an actual chicken breast makes me want to die. Chugging 30g of protein in ten seconds is the only way I’m hitting my macros right now. For 4 cents a gram, it’s basically a steal. I still keep some ISO around for post-workout, but yeah, those shakes are carrying my entire physique on their back right now. Just watch out, if my Costco runs out of the salted caramel ones, there might be a riot in the aisles.
Too expensive for me, same with whey. Especially since I've been cutting it's better for my wallet and appetite to eat real food only. Reta hasn't really surprised my appetite.
Dkoon211I get the stuff from Sean nalajawne from YouTube. His shit is as good as it gets.
Never tried. What's the cost?
Dkoon211I buy 3 with a subscription and its free shipping so it comes to like 120 for 3.
I’m a core power elite addict. Expensive habit but so is zyns
That shit us legit for everything but the wallet.
No wayyy are you into nicotine??!!
Dkoon211Core has too much shit in it for me. But damn it taste good
Fairlife has been a game changer for me. I know a couple other guys who go that route as well. Has significantly cut back on my recurring protein powder order.
Fairlife is SO good. Nurri is the power man's alternative tbh. The sale of $1.25 per instead of $1.85 convinces me sometimes.
Haven’t seen the nurri yet, I’ll have to check it out
