+ 1 HCG for lower-dose cycles
Hey, I've dipped in and out of here to read things a few times in the past but finally decided to sign up.
I've done I think 5 cycles in the past. Mostly just Test but tried Mast on one, though one of those cycles didn't complete (had to travel all of a sudden). I've only used Nolva for PCT. I've used Test E and tried Sus but prefer E. I've tried ramp up/down, 10-week 1-vial and up to 12-weeks 2 vials. What I'm considering now is just single-vial 10-on-12-off sort of cadence as I'm not prepping for a show, I just get less anxiety and feel more confident when I look good, and I have addictive tendencies so junk snacking and alcohol control is an issue and more mass means more BMR. Yeah I've got issues.
Anyway...
I used to be of the opinion that HCG was a PCT-only and while I'd not used it myself (even when up to 400mg/wk I had no noticable aromatising effects or other sides) I do believe I don't bounce back as much as I'd like so I was looking into it. Now I'm reading more and more about it being used during the cycle and to be honest it makes a lot of sense mechanistically, but I'm concerned about the additional cost as it's more expensive than the cycle itself --.
My questions are
1) is my plan moronic
2) If I was to do 10-week 250/wk cycles with Clomid PCT, to what degree would you 'highly or not' recommend HCG still be used? I'm fairly confident that if I go back to 400/500 per week I'll definitely add it in

I am just going to say this, HCG and Clomid is not just for PCT!! You can take clomid everyday while blasting or on TRT and it can help keep the balls normal sized and producing. That is the cheap way or you can take 250iu of HCG 3x a week and it will also work just fine. If you do not care about fertility or the size of your balls while blasting, then do neither and just do a PCT of Clomid and HCG after the blast cycle is done.
Thanks mate. I had understood that clomid wouldn't do anything while supressed, but I guess you might be saying that clomid can be used in combination with HCG during, not just clomid by itself?

You can use both at the same time if need be but Clomid can be used by itself. Doctors prescribe Clomid to TRT patients to keep them fertile and normal sized. I know someone on TRT and they are prescribed Clomid everyday.

To answer your questions:
Is your plan moronic? Not necessarily, but it depends on your goals and how well you respond. Cycling on and off like that can work for maintenance, but you might find your gains are slower. It really boils down to how your body reacts and if you're happy with the results.
HCG with 250mg/wk and Clomid PCT? I'd say it's not essential, but could still be beneficial. At that dose, your natural production shouldn't be shut down too hard, but HCG can definitely help keep things ticking over and make the bounce back smoother. If you're concerned about cost, maybe try it for one cycle and see if you notice a difference compared to without. Everyone's different, so it's hard to give a definitive answer. If you're already planning on it at 400/500mg, then experimenting at the lower dose might give you some good data.
