+ 4 Organ Support

ad

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my current organ support stack while running my cycle and see what you all think. I know how important it is to protect the liver, kidneys, heart, and overall health while on gear, so I’m taking a pretty comprehensive approach. Here’s what I’m currently using and why:

** Liver Support:

• TUDCA – 1000 mg daily (split into two doses)

• NAC – 1200 mg daily (split into two doses)

• Milk Thistle – 500 mg daily

• Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) – 600 mg daily

** Kidney Support:

• Astragalus – 3000 mg daily

• Cranberry Extract – 1000 mg daily

• Electrolytes (Potassium, Magnesium, Sodium)

** Heart & Cardiovascular Support:

• CoQ10 (Ubiquinol) – 200 mg daily

• Omega-3 (Fish Oil) – 4000 mg daily

• Citrulline – 8 g pre-workout

• Berberine – 1500 mg daily (split into 3 doses with meals)

** Blood Pressure & Lipid Support:

• Hawthorn Berry – 600 mg daily

• Garlic Extract – 1200 mg daily

• Red Yeast Rice – 2400 mg daily

I feel like this covers all my bases, but I’m always looking for ways to improve. Anyone have experience with this type of stack? Anything I should add or remove? Let me know what’s worked for you!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

Question for everyone on this thread Would be valid add on that stack, injectable glutathione ? What you all think?

I can't help but think that stuff is just a con to make more money - our bodies produce it anyway. I would welcome any studies though that prove it works well, as yet I have never seen any?

Pandateston's picture

Yes, I also thought it could just be a market hype. But if we follow this line of reasoning, peptides would also have no use as PEDs, after all, they are compounds produced by our body, right?! But of course I understand your point of view. I was doing some research and yes, there is evidence that injectable glutathione works, I just don't know if it's a big deal, if it's all that wonderful as many "experts" say. Many times it's better to leave the systemic environment more prepared to increase endogenous glutathione. I think it may be valid to use, but I don't believe it has the benefits that the hype suggests.

I took it 30 days before a surgery bc my liver enzymes were in the high 50’s. Needed them down as far as I could. Injected 50mg a day for those 30 days and tested again. Liver enzymes were back in the teens. Definitely worked.

The point of taking these are to increase our natural glutathione supply. Some supplements tend to raise levels more so than others, for example lipoic acid and grape seed extract tend to raise those levels but problem with grapeseed extract is it's lower bioavailability or absorbtion rate. Other than that not much that needs to be added because you're covering all bases. Maybe add some Saw palmetto for prostate health like Chad P mentioned. Good for you

EDIT: Even NAC has low bioavailability

Grape Seed Extract and Pine Bark extract are also really good for the kidneys, Glutamine helps them too. In fact taking Glutamine, NAC and Glycine (which you get from shakes) are what the body uses to produce its own Glutathione supply.

I recently purchased a Ninja blender and it's my new secret weapon for getting in calories. Breakfast this morning was 1.5 cups oats, 32g peanut butter, 1 scoop whey, 8 oz milk blended. I'm preparing some rice on the stove as we speak and once it's done I'll be experimenting with blending and drinking rice. Do you consider a whey shake sufficient for aminos or do you consume BCAA/EAA supps separately?

Great question buddy!! I use Whey Hydrolysate (52g) with extra Leucine powder (5g) for general shakes and post workout - then I also consume 15g of EAA's plus 10g of Casein Hydrolysate/Leucine powder before bed. If you use the EAA's as well as the Whey it takes recovery to the next level mate, especially in the tendon areas I find. A lot of Idiots will argue the case of 'why use extra BCAA's and EAA's when you already have them in the Whey shake? - Well yeah of course they are present as they make up general protein powders Lol So the idea is supplement on top of the Whey with extra EAA's (being the important and most effective ones that the body cannot produce by itself).

I have boxes of aminos from when I was sponsored I never took mainly due to laziness that I need to get rid of. I would use them now if they weren't a decade expired but I've failed to toss them due to laziness as well LMAO. Now that I am in my 40s I'm more proactive about my health and wanting to take more supplements for longevity and sustainability. I competed for years and started using gear when I was a teenager. I took a year sabbatical in 2011 when I compound fractured my arm, aside from that period I've been on for 20 years. So I'm definitely blessed to even still be in the gym and just want to extend my health as long as possible. I'm not a spring chicken anymore lol

I noticed that alpha lipoic acid can disturb my sleep if too much is taken. Can also burn the hell out my stomach also.

I've been familiar with this list since my teens years looking at magazines and visiting GNC. Nice

C4RDX's picture

I learned of some of the list from the GNC cashier when I walked in and told him I'm on gear. I just purchase the cheapest brands though. I'm not sure if there is much benefit in spending a lot more on the fancy brand names. I'm a great value type of guy lol

Working at GNC was always my dream job as a teen because I was a supplement freak. Been very familiar with damn near everything in GNC lol. But to your point alot of these supplements or herbs come from the same place, just a different label on bottle. Not saying that's always the case because there are differences in quality of many of the same herbs or supplements.

Nice bro. Astragalus Root and Hawthorne Berry have been a year round staple of mine for a while, also good to throw some Saw Palmetto in there for prostate support. Glutathione injections on cycle also something to think about, full kit is pretty cheap.
