+ 22 To Hell and Back

ad

First image was from February 2024 sitting at 245lbs and 2nd image is from today sitting at 215lbs. I trained for 20 plus yrs then in 2019 I tore my bicep and needed surgery. That kept me out of the gym for 5 years. During that period I was depressed and had every excuse in the world not to train. I was so embarrassed with the way I looked. I always felt like shit because the way I ate it truly was miserable. My BP was out of control and I just simply wasn’t healthy at all. In Feb of this year we booked a trip for end of June and at that point I was like I’m fckn done looking like this! I was determined to not be the fat depressed dad anymore. I started fasted cardio at 4 am every day followed by Keto diet and then training after work. The hard work had paid off and I feel so good these days. My BPis lowest it’s ever been because of diet exercise and TMG. My bloodwork has been great and my depression is nonexistent. At 43yrs old I feel like I’m in my prime! For those who are struggling out there I hope you too can find the courage to change and make the best out of life. We don’t know how long we will be on this earth so don’t waste anymore time being unhappy!

Thanks man! Yeah I’m not a fan either of PF but I go occasionally with my son. It is actually nice in that one. With my insurance I pay $25 a month and can hit all the gyms locally so I bounce around.

I had a full rupture/ detached from the top and I was training everything but biceps up to surgery back in the gym 3 weeks later and back to full load training within 12 -14 weeks I was using gear hgh , tb500 for recovery though. What type of bicep injury kept you out for 5 years ? Not doubting you just curious mate … tell you what they could cut my legs and arms off and I’ll be flopping into that gym and training neck , jaw and eyebrows within a year I would be the most jacked chicken nugget you ever seen

My distal tendon detached. The surgery was ridiculous because insurance didn’t want to pay until I got a lawyer involved so I had a ton of scar tissue built up due to waiting months for approval which turned into multiple slices in my arm to complete the surgery. That said it wasn’t that the surgery or injury itself kept me out for 5 yrs it was more of a depressive funk I got into from not being active and gaining weight along the way. I went from being in phenomenal shape to a fckn fat bum and mentally it fucked me up. I dropped my trt so my test levels were next to nothing so I was just a complete mess. I’ve been a member here a very long time I would hop on from time to time and then finally this year I grew a set of nuts to change my life and got back on the gear.

I appreciate that Stokes. I been sober for 15+ years so I been in the trenches deep and seen myself heading back in that direction if I didn’t do something soon. Too many Men suffer in silence so hopefully my post will help someone in that state to get the fck out of it!

I've done some pretty nutty shit regards training around surgeries LOL I had a mole removed on my back/lat about 2/3 years back that had gone dodgy, they laid me on the table and cut it out going 2/3" into my back and about 2" scar all stitched up. Told me no training for 10 days - I came home and did deadlifts within the hour, bastard bled through the bandage and all sorts.

I couldn’t agree more. The mind is very powerful both negative and positive. It’s all about which side we feed that makes the difference.
