Equipoise & Bloodwork

ad

Hi,

Been on e-roids for a long time, but never posted.

42yo 105kg.

I'd like to gather some knowledge to a topic.

I've been on test for about 10 years now, blasting once a year with other mild compounds.

I am currently on 250 mg Test Cyp/week & 400 mg EQ/week. I'm also on Finasteride to try to minimize hair loss.

Did bloodwork recently, and I can't get my head around these results:

DHT 1.32ng/ml (usualy i'm on 0,6) - note that i'm on 1mg Finasteride ED!
SHBG 16.1 nmol/d
Total Test 1010.06 ng/dL
Free Test 68.6 pg/ml (usualy at 27/30)
E2 36 ng/L (usualy 60/80)

Questions:

  1. How the hell is my DHT so high? I'm on Finasteride, and my values have never been so high, even without Finasteride.
  2. Never had this high free test and low E2

Is it possible that the lab test cant discriminate between DHT and dihydroboldenone?

I've run this with my doc but he can't seem to give me a straight answer.

Any input would be welcome.

The free test isnt high at all compared to same doses with anavar, winny, etc.

Finasteride is up to 5mg per day as directed by your dr. For hair though if you have no prostate issues id opt for hair shampoo to block at the scalp.

E2 at 32. Excellent! Eq has slight conversion to mild ai. Just go with it.

Lastly, drs wont have a clue about cycles and telling dr can get your insurance cancelled. Drs training in hormones is 1 chapter in a book. A dr would typically send you to an endo however you dont want to risk insurance loss.

Dr not prescribing it for hair loss was the intended message. For prostate bph cialis imo is a better choice. Chose that exact statement on a scalp blocker if his fear is hairloss because its far less than a clinical dose as finas intention. If his conversion to dht with 1mg bothers him then honestly he should reconsider gear all together. Toying with genetics predisposition for hairloss is futile.

note-it may take at least 3 months to see an effect

How long at 1mg? 3mo leadtime is a key

Dht has a definite place in the toolbox of what we do. It makes your boner hard as a rock, strong androgen, promotes focus/aggression in the gym. Blocking estrogen as well!

Gotta pick your battles here. Hair or body. You may have both but its going to be shortlived on a follicular level.

Thanks for taking the time.

My main qiestion here is how is the DHT so high on finasteride.

And still bad for bodybuilding genious

Trt is 100mg a week so that small jump and your bodies conversion. Also cited is the medical advice on dosing. Your fina real? Old? Maybe you convert that much. 1mg vs 5mg is a huge jump.

What is likely happening here is the EQ acting as an AI, so your free test is more readily converting to DHT (since it can’t turn to E2). Low active aromatase enzyme floating around means more free and more DHT. Bet your DHT would be even higher without the finasteride

Thanks for the reply bro. Ignorance of mine. I didn’t know EQ worked as an AI and that free test test could convert to DHT.

I was under the impression only total test could convert to DHT.

Better drop the EQ if I want to keep my hair then.

Fellow older guy here. It's commonish knowledge Equipoise works as an AI for some people. You really should be doing deep dives on each new compound you want to run - I mean this with a warm brotherly energy. I've heard finasteride is powerless in preventing hair loss unless you're running test only.

DHT is made from the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme converting testosterone. I’m hardly an expert or even that knowledgeable, but I would assume/think that test that is already bound at androgen receptors or other enzymes wouldn’t be open to convert to DHT. But free test floating around would be a prime spot for some 5-a-reductase floating around to bind to.

With that being said, steroids don’t “cause” hair loss per se. They merely increase the rate at which your predisposed genetic hair loss will occur. If you shed real bad on steroids, then even without steroids you were gonna end up balding/bald. Just years later than if you had decided to dabble in gear.

Also you could try the shampoo “Nizoral”…sure it’s anti dandruff but Ketoconazole can inhibit 5-alpha reductase. Can apply the DHT blocker directly to the area you want protected. Vs systemically blocking DHT conversion as a whole. You’re missing out on one of the great benefits of gear if you’re crashing (or attempting to) your DHT levels.

Last paragraph. Fully agree
