is 20% to 15% as easy as 25% to 20% bf?
ad
Approaching a new PR BF % as an adult. Going to break under 20% soon for the first time!!! Was 27% 6-8 weeks ago.
Goal is 15%. I am killing it on my diet, I have no problem at all continuing at this rate but does it get harder to lose bf the lower you go?
I always hear people talking about plateauing, I've always found that with enough cardio, resistance training and proper diet it's been super easy to lose weight.

I had 25% body fat and managed to cut down to around 13–15%. I can’t say that going from 20% to 15% was harder than from 25% to 20%, but the journey from 15% to 10% was definitely much more difficult for me.
I know going from 10 to 15% is easy. After that, I kinda stall out
Yes the lower you go the harder it gets, also the longer you’ve been on one continuous diet the more likely your going to plateau soon, with a diet there’s one sure way of breaking through a plateau, and that’s just dropping the calories lower but at a certain point that becomes almost impossible.
Soon your probably going to have to take a break, or start doing carb cycling, cheat meals or “refeeds” or whatever you want to call it, but your body will start adjusting to those calories and you’ll need to jumpstart that fatloss again
That's great advice. I was considering mike Israel's suggestion of doing a week of Maintenance at some point. If I was following his advice I would have taken it already.
I assume I would just add very healthy carbs and fruits into my diet to bring myself up to maintenance. Overnight oats/baked potato/fruits.
Should I be proactive and do this before I run into a roadblock or wait until I either plateua or start feeling bad?
Goodluck man. Im out
I think the common train of thought is don’t do the refeeds or whatever you call it, unless necessary. But with carb cycling you’ll have the days scheduled into your week. So you’d do like two high carb days a week on higher energy days. And that way you shouldn’t really hit a road block.
If you prefer eating the same thing everyday, then when you stall out you can increase for a week to jump start and then go back at it. If you wanted to do it preventatively then you could just do like two days when you feel weaker or losing strength to bring it back up and then keep grinding.
It all comes down to how bad do you want it.
Its life you want it you work for it. Nothing is easy
But in the end its all worth it
Its all about manipulating your macros and adding or changing your cardio times..
I don't have any problem whatsoever losing weight or the desire. My biggest problem across my 3 year journey I've been on is cutting too many calories. The way I am eating now barely feels like a diet compared to those times but now I am keeping the muscle.
Just curious as to whether or not it keeps just flying off at different fat %. I.e. does it get slower when your bf is lower?
All these guys have there different descriptions of it and some havent even been there yet
Its can be as easy as changing from steak/groundbeef to chicken/ turkey. Then hit the wall go to shrimp/and wild caught cod / tuna fish packets for me
It can be as easy as your day off from the gym turns into a 30 minute cardio treadmill
It can be from going from 10,000 steps to 15,000 steps
It can be as easy as adding dandelion root to piss out water to adding asparagus to show the seperation in your abs. It turns from liking the guy in the mirror to LOOKING AT THE GUY IN THE MIRROR and say holly fuck i made it
Love it man.
Already on chicken, eggs, raw veggies every day. Lot of shrimp nights too. I run 2.5 miles 5 days a week after an hour of weight lifting. It's going amazingly. It's crazy what happens when you listen to experienced users.
You listen to the right guys. You do the work
YOU and your family will be stronger then ever theres something women love about hard working men…. It shows in all aspects of your life
Keep killing it — do your thing when you feel that plateau DONT GIVE Up there is always something even minor we can change and WILL WORK WONDERS. From what you say your doing there are many tricks to be pulled out when needed to pull more fat off.
anvilYes of course the less you have the more calorie restricted you have to be. I was around 11% and it was a fight, I sit below 15 now but over 12 . That's what I can handle. Weight is easy to loose, keeping muscle and just loosing fat is really difficult.
A fight as in not being able to manage the calorie deficit?
You dont cut calories to far YOU burn the calories by cardio , drinking black coffee to speed up metabolism,
you cut calories to far you lose muscle and energy
You need calories to fuel metabolism
Do your cardio and be spot on with your diet
anvilWell yes, plus I feel flat. The bf will creep up. IDK honestly under 15 has worked well, I feel good, look some what lean but not diced.
