I know this isn’t a UFC event, but I’m a Nate Diaz fan, and would like to hear everyone’s thoughts about this bout

Diaz was the dude who said ‘ it would be more embarrassing for a boxer to step foot in the cage ‘ I wonder if this is a 2 fight deal. One in the ring and an MMA cage. Wouldn’t that be something.
It would be great to watch, although I think an experienced MMA guy will automatically shoot for a takedown, and either choke him out or ground and pound him. If the boxer has no cage or even wrestling experience, it going to be a humiliating day for him. They would have to rely on their own brute strength and heart to see them through it. Still fun to watch though.
Hopefully he'll put an arm bar on Jake Paul and snaps it in half LOL

It’s different for me, long story I can’t get into, but I’m a pug at heart. BJJ is a very respected art and firm of self defense, but shit, a stiff rub shuts it all down. Not looking for arguments, but I’m betting most guys that are respected BJJ belt holders have ever been knocked out, or kicked in the head, or in the trauma unit. It’s just not practical. I see the shit every day, the best self defense available? Legally purchased and whatever the state you live in allows you to conceal carry. Shit, if you can’t get a permit you’re better off judged by 12 than carried by 6. It’s easy math.
In all seriousness, how many here, in this thread, wouldn’t step in the ring with either for 25K? Even if it was a lucky shot, neither hits hard. It’s a bullshit fight.

Ok, am I ready for a boxing match? No. Am I ready for a mma match? I stopped competing in Kenpo because I saw the way the game was going. So… would I fight Jake Paul? Yes. Would I fight Nate Diaz? Yes. Neither one of these guys are frightening to me. Will I get knocked out? Possibly. Will I knock either of them out? I carry myself with confidence. These guys just aren’t tough guys in my book. I kind of live two lives, but these two aren’t threatening in either.

I would definitely fight Jake Paul. Not sure I would win, but I might. Now, Nate Diaz, I’m just too old to want to deal with that shit. I’m a big fan, and my main reason is that he never seizes to amaze me. He’s that guy that you beat the shit out of, but he won’t give up. My knuckles would give up before his face would. I fought a huge fat guy that was like that once. Mutha fucker just kept coming. I ended up walking away, so he felt like I punked out. I just didn’t see it ending

You're confident and that's what every fighter needs. My comment below wasn't out of fear, not bragging but I'm a former and still somewhat of an athlete with a bit a quickness and strength. Hell no doubt I'm stronger than those guys but I'm amateur in the boxing game and those guys are indeed professional. They would get me on points I admit, they are suppose too though. Paul, him fighting MMA guys is nothing spectacular. I don't doubt his abilities but it's fights like this that bring boxing down. The fight with Tommy fury showed us he isn't as great as he thinks he is.
My prediction is it will bring in a lot of revenue. No disrespect to either, but Paul STILL isn’t fighting a real boxer here. He’s got 30lbs on both, how do you think it would go if he fought Ryan Garcia or Canelo? I doubt it’d go past the first round.
I completely agree, although I’m hoping that Diaz’s endurance will shine and win the fight for him. I’m not a fan of these Paul brothers, although I have to give them credit for forcing the UFC to start paying these fighters better. They were totally ripping these fighters off until these guys started making so much noise about it.
