2 weeks into off season. Everything 2x per week except legs.

I started realizing the more I tried to hit legs twice a week the more fatigued I was. I went back to training them once very 5-6 days and noticed improvement in strength immediately. I would also experience more pain in my knees when training them multiple times a week. I don’t believe in splitting the muscle group like hamstrings one day with an upper body part. Leg day is leg day, the entire muscle group. Sometimes I incorporate light deadlifts with them but I simply can’t train them multiple times a week.

Exactly. Once a week is sufficient for me. Also cardio on stair master will be horrendous with a 2x per week leg day.

That’s actually a solid point because for that extra leg day I compensated less cardio. Perhaps I can incorporate a day of cardio that utilizes legs more like an extra day of 30 minute stair master. This is a great reminder!

Yes we should never neglect cardio especially not in an off season when we get heavier and thus the heart has to do more work. Cardio helped me a ton here to stay fit und healthy.

Hey, currently doing 6 sets of hams and 8 sets of quads per week to failure. Hams get 2 sets on back day and 4 sets on leg day 8 sets quads on leg day are split up into 3 sets extensions, 2 sets hack squat and 3 sets leg press.
