I’m so overdue. Blood bank calls and texts me daily to remind me, but it’s hard to get there during work hours. Too busy lately. I really got to find time to go
I hear ya man . Summer time I’m so swamped with work it’s hard to get around to anything . Winter is my slow season so I really take advantage of the extra time .
2x per year, no compensation. I only take biscuit and appreciate free blood test. I wish my blood could safe life one day! thanks for donating man.
The weather around here has cancelled all the blooddrives. Huge shortage here now.
Sounds pretty bad where you’re at . Stay safe brother
Imagine a whole town without power for a week with below zero temps.
I’ve been watching it on the news. Hope you guys are ok
I've seen some incredible ammounts of snow at the US / Canadian border, in our news, I know it only causes trouble, but I would love to see that power of nature once in a life... In my city 2cm snowfall causes trafic jams for a week...
Oh no you don’t. We lost power for a week last summer due to storm and it was insane. Life doesn’t stop and wait for your power to go back on. Wasted vacation time, and it’s a devastating feeling to watch your family go through it and know there is nothing you can do to make it easier for them. Feels like someone cut off my balls for the week, and that was summertime. My heart goes out to anyone going through it in the winter. God bless them!
Always a great win/win feeling too. Healthy for you and also your blood will be used to help others.
I also feel great afterwards. Keep donating regularly
Have you ever had a Blood Transfusion Bud? That's a strange experience - you are sat looking at a bag of someone else's blood that they have given which is about to go into your body! They do triple checks on the blood type and that it is correct, all has to be witnessed etc and signed off as if they get it wrong, well it wouldn't be good! Lol
No I haven't but I can't imagine the though at the time when you are watching somebody else's blood going into you.
Glad its checked multiple times though!
Someone told me a story that they knew someone who went in for some kind of surgery and needed a blood transfusion. When they woke up from the surgery the doctor told them they messed up and gave him the wrong blood type . Ultimately leading to his death shortly after ..
Very important thing to do from time to time.
So simple and doesn’t take much time . Many aas users I know don’t know why it’s important to donate
