Testosterone & Methotrexate
Hi guys.
I am a fitness obsessed dude since I was in my teens. Always fascinated by the look of big muscles and the use of performance enhancing drugs. I played a sport at a somewhat good level, that I was at a level of being tested by WADA and also earning my money with it. So of course PEDs were a no-go at that time.
Just right before I turned pro I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthrits and since 10 years now I am getting treated with 25mg/week MTX (Methotrexate). I terminated my pro career and I bodybuilding/steroids are again in the spotlight.
Basically what my question is, did anybody for whatever reason know/hear if these two drugs it would be wiser to not take them together?
Any help is welcome and also inputs that might help answer my questions myself is appreciated.

Alphamale500Apparently, methotrexate has potential hepatotoxic effects, so combining this drug with any c17-aa compounds, or any drug which can affect the liver can potentially cause some very serious liver problems. So yes, you should certainly avoid mixing methotrexate with anabolic steroids, or even alcohol for that matter! And there's probably more common medications or substances you should avoid. To find out exactly what you should avoid, you should really seek the advice of a doctor.
The only thing I can guess at is the RA drugs suppress the immune system, and AAS is mostly immune stimulative. So that could pose a conflict, but I'm not sure. You should look for medical interactions.
Check with your doctor before asking strangers on the internet. This is a Bru well educated community but we are not qualified to give advice on pharmacological interactions. Everyone is unique and reacts differently to different things. For that reason you need to consult your prescribing physician.

So you were a pro athelete but had Arthrits since 16?
Rheumathoid Arthritis - yes.
I know many people on both.Granted they are older men that were prescribed trt and methyltrexate for arthritis.Checknwith you dr first but he will give it a go as long as you liver is cool!
Molinin302Listen to D, I'm still learning but getting great advice here. Trust the labwork and consult with a Dr. What's the worst/best thing that can happen from comprehensive blood results?
I agree with you here. My bloods look good. I get checked every 3 months to see if my body reacts bad with MTX for example. Problem is the Dr. I have now is very restrictive and for 100% if I go in and be like "Hey Doc.. what you think about Test e?" he will kick my ass out in the same second.
I don’t know if any bad interactions but I’d check with ur doc. If ur not comfortable with that at least check web md.
AnonLol Web MD, one search later and... boom! fucking cancer. That small tickle in your throat... is actually ass cancer, you have 4 minutes to live.
Lol dude that site has kept me up at night. That and drugs.com are at least good for known interactions tho lol
jayiskWas told by a Dr that WebMd was actually created by dr's to scare people into coming in to see them. After reading about symptoms which made them thing they had something srs wrong with them.
That’s hilarious. And 100% believeable
jayiskThis was a dr who used a bookie i use to help. I would make sure they found things when they lost., or at least come up with the vig .. ;}
He was at the bar and had a few in him. So it made sense to me when he said that about the website...lol
Lol nice. Honestly I wouldn’t doubt it for a second
