What's up guys

Shout out to pumped for inviting me to this group. I've been here 7 years and haven't even thought about the group section here. But it's nice to see guys (and gals if any) who are warriors for the Lord, especially on a site like this. I feel like there are so many topics we can talk about here but maybe I'll start by telling about my weakness as a Christian and maybe u guys can give advice or tell where you may struggle yourself. One of my biggest weaknesses as a Christian is sharing the gospel with lost people. I dunno I want to share, especially in the world we live in but I feel like the world is getting farther and farther away from the truth of Jesus and more secular than ever. People don't want to hear it and I'm not the type of person to just go up to people and start a convo about it. I want to find better ways to at least plant the seed so to speak ( check out John 4:36) how are u guys when it comes to this?

Well I was never good or even new how to share the Gospel as a young adult. But, then I joined the United States Navy. I served in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. All of which was combat. I will not share what part of the Special Warfare Qualification here, but I soon realized I was in war for God. It took me many years to be able to talk about the atrocities I saw. But, after joining a church, becoming involved in youth ministries. One day I decided to share my testimony at a drug rehab. It felt amazing! I just allowed the Holy Spirit to guide me, and I was exceedingly blessed by the result. I hope this story encourages you to do the same.

Awesome advice from everyone. I like how exotic put it, throwing out subtle hints for a possibility to open up a conversation. I sometimes do that in general conversation. I always wear my cross necklace and sometimes I'll get someone to ask "what do u go to church or something"? And I'll be like yeah you dont?? Then they see how jacked I am and are to afraid to answer back. Haha jk but yeah this world needs to hear the word, and not the watered down ear ticking stuff that's getting preached a lot lately.

Haha "watered down ear ticking stuff". My old pastor used to always say "SUGAR COATED PREACHING IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR SOUL!" 2 Timothy 4:3-4

That is our "Great Commission" to spread the gospel but the worlds heart is so hardened with secular humanism. But the bible says every knee will bow and every tonque confess. Ive had opportunities where i failed to deliver and regretted it later and felt so bad like i robbed that person out of his/her grace. But people see how i react to certain things, i talk about it at work indirectly so people get curious and come up to me and ask. Start with a simple thing like wearing a tshirt that proclaims your faith. Sneak little seeds in a conversation. Use the name Jesus in their presence a lot. But at least i know Jesus wont come until everyone gets a chance to hear the gospel. Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Thanks for sharing bro. So much truth in your post- I can certainly relate. It’s hard to share with people. Not because they have not heard of Jesus- but because they have heard of so many people’s “version” of Him.

I have a good friend who is a pastor and some of the best advice around sharing the gospel he gave is consistency and transparency. Consistently - show up for the hard things and show up well. Be the anchor in peoples lives when everything is falling apart. Transparency- it’s OK to admit that we struggle to and make mistakes. He lives the life we couldn’t live, died the death we deserved, and now we get to put or trust in His grace as we wake up each day and try to grow more.

Great post and thanks again for sharing.

I love Jesus, there is nothing bad about Christianity.. God is all good, there are so many atheists in the world today, it is sad.. But like you said all you can do is plant a seed and by spreading the word that is what you're doing.. Not everyones soil will be able to grow that seed.. but some peoples soil will be able to and they're unaware of it until it is in their soil.. You can't force anything on anyone.. for me every morning I post Bible verses on my social media, so everyday people see that.. I also go help at my church and go on trips with the kids.. The people that want God in their hearts will open up and accept it, those are God's people.. You can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink.. as long as they have that water, you did your job friend.. God bless

It is always the right time to share the Word of our Lord!

How we go about doing so can be challenging but it is amazing how (with prayer) the Holy Spirit can work through us if we allow it.

Not everything has to be done in a pastoral preachy sharing. It can be subtle cues that will lead those open to listening further and wanting to know our Lord Jesus.

Being prepared to share is KEY so that when an opening occurs you are ready to allow the Holy Spirit to move through you at that moment!
