Test Cycle and Voice Change

ad

I was asked a questioned that stumped me yesterday. I have a friend who is 28, a singer, trains his ass off, and is considering running his first test only cycle. His concern is could his voice change. I’ve never encountered this question. Any thoughts?

GATORNATION's picture

Well, I’ve provided him with all of the feedback, so the ball is in his court. Thanks!!

It is possible and likely ... I have been told that if he continues to excercise his vocal cords that he could keep that from happening .. I am assuming that he's a tenor where a significant change could really be a bad thing

Mountain-Man's picture

I think it's very possible, and I would. Advise him against it since it could affect his job . I have never noticed a change in mine or any of my long time friends but with gear anything is possible

Act with caution. The fact is that those who don't use their vocal chords as a business tool, it is rather difficult to determine the connection between voice changes and using of AAS. No one can control such things. However, For the singer this can become an unpleasant surprise. So just it needs to make a short cycle with short ethers, if the decision to use testosterone was already anyway taken.

Yes but he could be the next Barry white so definitely worth the risk.

I believe it does. Before running Test - I could sing falsetto, just like the BeeGees - after a couple of cycles I have been booked to tour with the Three Tenors...ah, life's serpentine ways.

kodiakGRRL's picture

nice Oz.. I m now an alto/ 2nd soprano ... no more high notes for me I like the three Tenors though

Ozninjaguy's picture

Cool! Maybe we should put some songs together and start touring..apparently when I sing, people are moved to tears....I'll just leave it at that..but on a serious note (pun intended)... the human voice is quite an amazing 'instrument'.

Thanks for all of the feedback fellas. I appreciate it.

Yep, it can happen for sure. The higher the level of androgenic activity of the compounds he uses, the higher the level of risk he takes with this (not everyone responds the same... mpb being a good example of this). In men you more often see increases in aggression, hair growth or negatives like hair loss but yes voice deepening can happen too. On my last cycle mine deepended slightly (but obviously enough to notice) and then went back to normal post cycle.

It is more obvious in women... for obvious reasons. Virilisation is a bigger problem for ladies.

For your buddy, i wouldnt recommend messing with his career (if he sings for a living). But if its less crucial than that, don't go high test. He could research the options available for high anabolic/very low androgenic cycles.

Hair loss is a negative? Isn’t that purely cosmetic? I really don’t see it as a health concern. I would consider the potential androgenic impact on vital organs to be of greater concern. Having to “Bic it” is small potoatoes and really doesn’t hurt you in any way. Unless you’re shaky and cut yourself a lot lol

giardap's picture

Cosmetic it is but have an ould uGoogley of MPB and anxiety/depression.... then take a young fella and tell him its ok to do it to himself, see how he feels afterwards!

Personally, probably like your good self, I cgaf if i lose my beautiful hair, im a shaved head anyway so i would totally deserve it and would have no right to wine about it afternthe self inflicted fact!

Ive known a few natural mpb lads, hits at different ages but juice always accelerates it. The younger guys i knew or went to school with (a hundred years ago) took it really bad, poor little flowers lol (Samson was a fkn woman if you ask me!!)

;-)

Hair looks good paired with feminine or androgynous facial features. With hypermasculine features like square jaw, sharp cheeks, thick facial hair, bald honestly just looks better. Especially with a nice tan. If you can pull off the Dwayne Johnson/Vin Diesel look, why even bother with hair?

giardap's picture

Truth, Real men. Mybestro must be hogh, I am jealous of their tans! Lol

I would consider hair loss as a symptom of hormonal imbalance. I.e., a health concern.

Bill G's picture

I don't suffer from a hair loss problem. I still have the same number of hairs . If not more . They juat not in the same palace they used to be. More of a hair displacement problem

helloBrooklyn's picture

It’s genetic for many men. The use of androgens exacerbating or expediting it in those cases is all but a given. And of course there’s a hormonal imbalance; one that all steroid users who go past HRT doses create intentionally vis-a-vis loading a syringe with hormones and injecting it into their persons.

Pale's picture

In men I do not believe it will. Women is a whole 'nother story. Maybe if you were already a "high talker" like Ed?

Not sure about the voice, but I can say from experience that my jaw got very sore for about a month while running tren. Not the masseter but the actual bone. Dental health was fine. I didn’t realize until later when I researched the issue that the jawbone is actually saturated with androgen receptors (explaining why square jaws are indicative of biological masculinity). My hypothesis is that the soreness was in fact growing pains and my jawbone itself hypertrophied as a result of the trenbolone binding to the receptors. Hurt like a bitch. Eating was painful, much less singing.

MegaTRON13's picture

I’ve noticed that my voice differs after being on a cycle. I use to play the guitar and try to sing haha. Noticed it messed with my vocal cords enough for me to not play LoL

Jayzgainz's picture

Definitely an interesting question. My entire life up until my 1st cycle of test I had maybe 2 chest hairs. Now after a couple cycles I seem to have new ones pop up every day. Like you I have never thought about this. Unless a person such as your friend uses their voice and are in tune with it I'm sure most people havent.

I honestly think it’s possible. How masculine are his traits now? The androgenic affect is definitely real. I got all this back hair I can’t reach now.
At the same time, I don’t think mike Tyson suffered from low test in his prime. It most definitely has that effect on some females though.

GATORNATION's picture

He definitely has masculine traits: facial hair and a “normal” but not deep voice. He’s concerned with his range impact, which is understandable. I just have never thought about this aspect of side effects.

Thanks for the input.
