how do i get my lats to STOP growing
ad
i've been blessed (and cursed) with a big torso. broad shoulders, big rib cage, and [side] lats that will grow even if i never fucking work them out at all. i cant tell if its cause my waist is small and my shoulders are broad + a big ribcage that makes my lats look big, or they just grow really fast... either way they look disproportionate.
what back movements can i do that will not target my side lats? i have no problem with my back being thicker but my lats just need to stop growing wider. my current back routine is as follows
pullups (kind of a warmup)
barbell bent over rows
pullback rows with the straight bar (shoulder width grip)
seated row machine (the one you put plates on)
face pulls

Grow everything else
Can you post up a picture of these huge diproportionate lats? You may think they are huge but it could all be in your head and how you view your body. Having others look may reveal they are not so disproportionate.
According to your stats you're 5-10 and 185. I don't see how your back or your legs are "too big" at that size?
Don't train the areas you feel are out of proportion as often.
My back is seriously disproportionate to the rest of my body. My arms and chest are lagging wayy behind it. At this point I'm only doing 9 sets for my back to tryn let my other body parts catch up and it's still fkn growing faster then the rest and I'm getting new stretch marks on my lats. It's just genetic man, everyone's got that one body part that just grows without much effort. I'm in the same place as you, would like more thickness but not much more width. When I figure it out I'll let you know lol. I wish my chest and arms grew at the rate of my back. But it's always gonna be a struggle.
maybe if we just narrow grip everything? or try hitting back every other week. i got the same problem with my legs too and i hit them twice a month. i dont want big monster legs cause i like wearing skinny jeans. legs are big without much effort at all.
I don't think skinny jeans and bodybuilding/aas can be used in the same sentence.
