My left shoulder has been acting up! Should I fight through it? Drop weight!? Or just stop?
Check for strength imbalances between your push and pull movements. From personal experience I would recommend not fighting through it by ignoring it. There is something wrong and it needs sorting before you can continue. I ignored my issue and it got so bad that I had to stop... for a year and a half! I woke up in pain every morning, and could barely move my arm above shoulder level for that time- it nearly lost me my job.
As mentioned above get to work on your rotators. And if you are anything like I was with a benching obsession, make sure it is in balance with your pulling strength. If you don't do bent over laterals, then work them in as these are a great but often neglected exercise- not a lot of weight is needed, concentrate on form.
Before you do anything though, get yourself to a good physio (this is hard to find as many are crap) so they can assess the problem. This at the least will give you an idea of where you went wrong, but most of whatI got from them was near useless until they gave me a shot of cortisone in it. The pain was then gone in about a week but its been along road to build back the strength in it again.
Sorry for rambling but hope it helps in some way.
I noticed a difference in my shoulder pain, when I started incorporating Rotator Cuff exercise's to warm up the shoulder joint itself everyday before I start my Workouts. Sounds to me like a supraspinatus injury. I also had Shoulder pain due to Bicep Tendinitis before. The bicep tendon Short head: coracoid process of the scapula. Long head: supraglenoid tubercle, Both within the AC joint. The bicep tendon, supraspinatus and subcromial bursa are in that area. Anything there gets inflamed and your gonna experience pain.

Basically depends on what the pain and the level if pain your feeling to you really is. Me personally I used to have shoulder pain that I felt was serious or potential to be serious. But I trouble shooted things myself before running for the doc. Mind you I'm definitely not a dr. But I tried less shoulder work outs, (didn't work). Different shoulder work outs, trying to narrow the source or specific work out that was causing pain. Eventually I had to sit and think about it and I tried to spend roughly 15 minutes doing light weight shoulder movement causing the shoulder to rotate and stretch. Smooth motions allowing the shoulder to loosen up without causing tension yet. Then during my work outs if slow down my motion and use lighter weight until I couldn't eventually my muscles, and stabilizing muscles were capable of moving heavier weight with out the pain. Granted I still have some pains here and there, but that does come with the territory. No pain no gain
Shoulder pressing sounds like a rotator cuff issue , try some rotator relief exercises , research online the different exercises , youtube also. Try and lay off the presses and strengthen your lateral deltoid and rear deltoid as most of the time everyones front deltoid takes the brunt as with presses that's all it really hits. So it sounds like you need some rotator exercises and to take it east. Lateral raises and rear raises build width , presses build front deltoid and upper pec tie in and put a lot of stress on the rotator cuff and joint.
During movement. Shoulder press. Feel it in my joint.
Doc, get it checked. I walked around with a cuff tear for about 6 months thinking it would just go away.
Details. what kind of pain, during movement, not during movement. what kind of movement, what part of shoulder. etc.
