Exursion Headache

ad

Doing hack squats last Tuesday and doing a personal best when all of a sudden I get the worst intense headache I've ever had, took a few plates off to take it easy a bit for the next set and the headache gets worse. Wake up the morning after the headaches still there only not as bad I go to work with the headache still there but it's not too bad. Hit the gym that night and under any kind of stress my head felt like it was going to explode. Go home go to bed with the wife and bang just as I'm about to finish the headache comes on again. I Google it and find the term exursion headache. Go to the docs the day after he checks my blood pressure eyes ears coordination and says he's never heard of an exursion headache but it could be an ejaculation headache. .. which would explain what happened with the Mrs. Anyway he sends me on my way and a few hours later I get a call from the doc asking me to go for a cat scan right away. Get to the hospital and after bloods a few daft questions and a long wait the doc says I don't need a cat scan and my spine was slightly off centre and the headache would of been caused by that screwing my for up. He cracks my spine back into place tapes me up with keinosology tape pushes down on a few pressure points (which eased the headache a lot) and sends me on my way. Doing legs again last night and taking extra care on my form the headache comes back. Has anybody had a similar experience or suffered from an exursion headache? If so how long can I expect the headaches to last? Or is it time to go back to the docs?

You've poped a blood vessel (nothing to do with your alignment). They are called exertion headaches and you can also get them during sex. It can take up to several weeks to go away. If you keep having them when doing minor things I would get them checked out by a neurologist. Otherwise the pain will go away on it own it you take it easy.

Ive never had those headaches. I would stop lifting for a few days as that seems to worsen or even cause them to come on.

If I were in this scenario I would follow up with my doctors and make sure I understand why these are happening before I start up again. Especially if you're getting mixed diagnoses.
