1/200 bad pin
ad
So I have pinned probably 200x in my cycling. And the other day I did a pin of 3ml in the glute, when I inserted the needle I felt a pain (pressure pain) I pinned the oil and felt alot of pressure. Had normal PIP the following day. I still have slight soreness as normal but notice some swelling and a very small knot and some bruising at injection site. Could I have just pinned to close to the nerve? No fever or redness at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought this happened to everybody quite frequently, it does me. rule of thumb here is if you pin and it seems like it didnt go in as easy as normal, pay attention to how the oil is going in. if its hard to inject, and is accompanied with some pain start over.....never fails, everytime i have done this i always end up with PIP and a knot for weeks. got one in my shoulder right now.
Didn't you recently have some pool up and release?
yep. that wasnt accompanied with any pip or knot, just my shoulder was harder around injection site. theres a big difference between pool up and the PIP associated with pinning into a spot that doesnt want to accept oil.
Got'cha!
you have never done that, where you go to pin and it feels like your trying to pin through a 29g instead of a 23g, and it is usually accompanied with the feeling of a nerve close to needle so pinning fast makes it painful and actually for me even sweaty and nauseous?.... I have been backloading slins for a little while now so its hard to tell when im in a spot like this, hence the one I currently have, but when im hitting 23g regularly this happens a few times a month and is much easier to identify.
I get that frequently when I hit delts. I always thought it was excessive scar tissue because I favor them over other injection sites. My hand actually cramps up sometimes trying to get the oil flowing (23-25 gauge). But its nothing compared to the crackling sound I hear pushing the dam pin in my shoulder
Has anyone thought about ART or some serious deep tissue massage to help break up the scar tissue?
I believe I have had that happen a couple of times but I didn't know that's what that was. I thought I just had a shitty barrel. Lol.
That was me on that pin....the plunger left a giant indent on my thumb.
Got a foam roller? Sounds like oil may have pooled up.
Gotcha....thanks brother. So just roll it out?
Yes, Sir. I would also apply heat via heating pad. Heat increases blood flow and that can also help. Apply the heat before you foam roll.
Thank you bro I think thats exactly what it was. Still a little sore but the swelling has went down and no knot anymore.
