I tried doxy all it did was make me dizzy

I myself have used all the damn prescription meds. Doxycycline, tetracycline, minocycline, bactrim everything. They helped a little but I still got massive cyst. So I decided to run accutane. Honestly I had no issues with it. My liver enzymes never elevated and I felt fine. Except that my lips dried out some. I started off at 20 mg a day for a couple weeks then kept taking 20mg eod for a couple months. The first week I cleared up. And havnt had any cyst for over a year. Im not saying to do this but just like every other drug. If your careful and take precautions you should be fine. Liver support and drinking plenty of water helps.

Yup I've used doxy before it's nothing like accutane it's just an antibiotic like any of the others, not even the strogest either, bactrium is the strongest. The problem with antibiotics is one of two things happen assuming they even work for you which they tend not to when you have more then a mild case. You either build resistance to the antibiotic after some time and the acne comes back, or you realize how harmful taking antibiotics are everyday for years so you decide to stop and the acne comes back. And it comes back within days dl stoping. It's not a cure like accutane, only a temporary treatment. Accutane is in a class of it's own no other drug behaves the same. I know it seems scary man I was just like you I put it off for over a year. My only regret now is not using it earlier it was life changing. I would gladly put up with chapped lips for 6 months again if need be I actually hoarded about 6 boxes of the stuff from my derm. It you go the antibiotic route it leads to the same oath, accutane. Every part leads to accutane st some point. Sometimes if your lucky the antibiotics do work and people stay on them for 5 years, bjt after a while you don't wanna take a pill twice a day everyday you want the cure. Go look up what taking antibiotics long term can cause. Accutane is definitely scary shit, but so overhyped it's crazy. By putting it off your just prolonging the inevitable.

Edit: also back when I used accutane I finshed about 6 months ago I obviously spent a lot of time reading About it and the new theory is that the long term antibiotics is what causes ulcerative colitis and chrons not the accutane considering every accutane user has been on antibiotics long term prior to tane.

My wife used doxy for about 1yr a couple of years ago, hers was a mild case due to a hormone imbalance and stopped once she was pregnant with our 2nd and basically been clear since. Whether that is to do with doxy or the regulation of hormones after birth who knows.
I get cystic acne on my back, nothing too crazy but enough to be self conscious over. I bought some sulfur/salicylic acid soap and lotion on ebay a few months back and religiously use it every day making sure I exfoliate with the soap as much as possible and use the lotion after dry. That coupled with increased sun exposure I have seen approximately 80%"reduction in flare ups. It does have a downside though, the sulfur leaves a slight smell on you similar to fireworks so I just put on a little cologne and no one has said anything yet.
