+ 3 Estrogen and GH/ IGF-1

ad

Estrogen may also play a role in the production of GH and IGF-1. IGF-1 is an anabolic hormone released in the liver by the stimulus of GH . IGF-1is responsible for the anabolic activity of GH like increased nitrogen retention/ protein synthesis and cell proliferation. One of the first studies to bring this up looked at the effects of the anti estrogen Tamoxifen (Nolva) on IGF-1 levels showing it ot have a suppressive effect. A second study which took place in 1993 looked at the effects of testosterone replacement therapy on GH and IGF-1 levels alone, and compred them to the effects of testosterone combined again with Nolva. When Nolvaa was given, GH and IGF-1 levels were notably suppressed , while values were elevated with the administration of test e alone!!!! Yet another study has shown 300 mg /wk. of test e to cause a slight IGF-1 increase. Here the 300mg caused an elevation of estradiol levels which would be expected at that dose. This was compared to the same dosage of Nandrolone (Deca), however this steroid faied to produce the same increasein IGF-1. This result is interesting when we note that estrogen levels were actually lowered when Deca was used.
My next post will be on estrogen and fatigue.

That's because when you take deca alone your balls shut off which means less natural testosterone is getting converted to estrogen because theres nothing to convert!

Whole heartly agree with you 56. Nolva will most definitly suppress IGF-1. Had a member who tested IGF-1 after a long PCT of 6 wks and ran nolva at 20-30mg during PCT. His bloods showed IGF-1 at 111L flagged and he was 23. Refrence range was 115-355. So why does it do that? Did you know that nolva is used as a treatment for acromegaly(that's where you produce to much growth hormone) and dropped IGF-1 90mcg/L which is the same as 90ng/ml. So point is this when you PCT you are dropping your IGF-1 levels. What 56 posted is spot on. +1 for spot on post

Sure why not. It's not etched in stone. The name of the game is recovery and although there is the cookie cutter one size fits all of clomid and nolva there are other ways that experienced guys are using from trial and error that do work.

Yes 56 it is a big drop 90 points +- 4 was what they stated. So that poster I linked to would have been at about 201 instead of 111 IGF-1
