I need to learn how to flex the lats out like this for a Lat spread!
ClassyChassisWhile standing, hold your arms out to the side, palms facing forward. Now as you rotate the palm up, try to "pull" out the lat. Actually, it's easier to do one side at a time at first. Just rotate the arm back and "pull" out the lat. Watch in the mirror. Then do both sides. Once you get the hang of this, you'll understand how to pose your lats., even without your arms out.
