Peptides: immune function & tendonitus

ad

I thought I would share my experience with two areas little discussed in relation to peptides.

I'm 58 and began to suffer a lot of nagging injuries; muscles and tendons. I also had unexplained weight loss: 20lbs. I had also lost a lot of my strength, unusually so for a man of my age, fitness and activity. Lastly, I came down with a bout of food poisoning that never quite went away - it remained sub-acute. Like most guys, I went to a lot of doctors who either discounted my problems or just gave me pain pills and told me to eat more....

So, I did some research of my own, which I'm pretty good at, having a PhD and being a former librarian. All my research pointed to one problem: low growth hormone. I ran this by my doctors and got a doubtful response. So, I decided to be my own test monkey and ordered peptides: GHRP-6 & CJC-1295 w/o dac. I started out 60mcg of each 3 times a day. Within a few days I noticed an improvement. The biggest was my sub-acute illness. Before, anytime I tried to exercise it came right back. Now I could start exercising all I wanted; lifting, running, cycling. No more problems.

My other big problem was severe tendonitis in my right shoulder, elbow, index finger and thumb. It was so severe I had lost 60% use of my right arm. Now, after about 6 weeks on peptides have had about an 80% improvement. Pain and movement have significantly improved. This is in contrast to about 4 months of non-use, rest and immobility which did nothing but keep it from getting worse.

The last problem area I have is injuries in my thighs. I tore thigh muscles, sprinting, in both legs, about a year ago. They still bother me. I would say there has been a modest improvement. I think I will try direct injections of IGF & MGF here soon on them and see how that works. Right now I am only on a cycling/walking/running fitness program. I wanted to wait until I started lifting again before I used them but right now I am primarily interested in their healing and restorative powers rather than their muscle building ability.

I have recently added Huperzine to my regimen, 150mcg/day. I can't say I have noticed anything significant. Also, I have increased my peptide dosage to 80mcg each. Now, a lot of you will say that my dosages are too low but you must remember I weigh 125lbs, not 225lbs. Most medications are dosed out according to bodyweight, so I have taken mine into account. Also, I'm not training for the Olympia, just trying to get back a normal, healthy functioning body.

So, from my test monkey's experience my conclusion is that peptides are effective in boosting the immune system and healing tendonitis. On muscle tears the jury is still out.

NOTE: I'm still not lifting because of the tendonitis. So I'm basically on a cardio program.

I just posted about my own need for a boosted immune system in this forum. I have been dealing with chronic sinusitis for a while and recently completed a month of prednisone and antibiotics, to no avail.

I am debating on trying the same combination of peptides but with a single bedtime dosing instead.

I figure, best case scenario I sleep better and feel better. Best case scenario, it helps me kick this low-grade chronic infection.

Have you tried single dosing?

If I recall correctly, prednisone tends to suppress the immune system. You might want to research that.

No, and, unless you are over 50, I don't suggest a bedtime dose as this will suppress your natural GH production. Two doses minimum are needed, morning and afternoon on empty stomach. If you are a light sleeper and get up in the night, then take a dose then, othwerwise, daytime doses only.

I thought the peptides just enhanced the natural pulses and wouldn't suppress the natural production, but rather enhance it.

Looks like I need to dig into the medical journals.

Any chance you can give me a pointer to the materials you based your protocol on?

The endocrine system works on a feedback loop - have too much of a hormone the body responds by shutting down production; too little and the body responds by upping production. Now, you take peptides and pump out a load of GH just before you go to bed. You're sleeping, your body starts to go into its production cycle but, whoah, hey, here's a whole boatload of GH floating around already. So, what is your body going to do? At best, it will get confused and punt and just produce a little GH. So daytime injections are best. Your body produces GH during the day also, just in smaller pulses.
