I have a friend that makes a good bit from steel. He rides around and picks up washers and dryers, refrigerators, stoves. People throw all kinds of metal out all the time good metal. He probably makes a extra 300-400 a month just stopping on side the road and throwing metal in the back of his truck. Which is a good bit in my neck of the woods. Our job doesn't pay much. I don't have a truck, can't scrap in a mustang though. If another katrina hits, ill definitely be scrapping again. I was using a torch cutting up trailer frames after the storm and all kinds of metal and hauling metal debris off peoples property for free for the scrap. If you can storm chase there is a lot of money in debris cleanup and rebuilding
I just demoed a wall yesterday and got all the copper plumbing out at one of my jobs. probably 20lbs in all and your right, after awhile, that shit adds up man... Like christmas cashing metal in sometimes
Hell ya it adds up, that's probably 50 dollars worth of copper. Make sure take the brass fittings off it. So its clean copper. After katrina i had tons of metal to scrap. Copper went to 3.20 my town in ms was ground zero 240mph winds and 40ft of storm surge inland. There was debris in the streets 30 ft high and im not bullshiting. I started doing electrical work after the storm and kept all the gutted wire and brass. Id burn the copper its illegal where i live like a 10grand fine. So id burn it at night and just beat it with a stick and all the smut falls off the copper instead of stripping hundreds of pounds of it.

I think i can give better service to the people that way its just to many orders . i can focus more on my presentation i think i can improve more just gotta find time . Id rather have a a happy group of people than money . Just a few more days on mass specs too . im getting every done . There is one thing i do is listen
