Good shit bro. My arms are stugglin' lol I just recently started using straps so I can do them heavy shrugs, rows, and rack pulls. I think Im coming up on 17s. +1 keep it up!
Thanks bro I've debated on wrist straps just for shrugs cause I can do my sets with like 450 no prob but my grip starts getting weak after like 2 sets of 10 and I like to do 5 sets on everything they won't let us use chalk at my gym that would help too probably
I love em. Probably cause I lift shit tons more with them. I have gotten a lot thicker being able to lift a lot heavier. We dont chalk at our gym either. only thing with straps is after a few sets it looks like I've been cuffed even with the padded kind. blood marks on inner side of wrists.
Neither does my gym but no one says anything, they did the first 10-15 times but eventually they gave up. I don't use much, I keep it in a sock in my bag. Give it a good squeeze then rub the hands together, no clapping.
Shrugs would be one of the few exercises I could see using straps for, I couldn't do them without chalk. Even with chalk I'll lose my grip before I hit failure.
Have you heard of resein it's like super sticky resein for like violin bows supposed to be the shit I guess I think they actually have a bag of it or similar at Walgreens I was gonna try and it doesn't leave and residue on equipment
I used to bowl, lmfao. that shit works though. stop in any bowling alley and theyll have a vending machine full of that shit. for a few bucks, its a lot less messy.
I'll add, the bigger your forearms are the bigger your biceps can get.
Drop the straps unless you have an injury that requires them, use chalk and spit..or just the chalk
My problem is just plain out weak grip. I can lift a lot more when using a alternate grip but I feel like I'm gonna lose proportion this way. I swear on bb rows my grip goes out after like 225x10. Shrugs are about 315 with alt grip and thats still struggling to hold on. I've gotten up to 465 x 6 ish on rack pulls but no way without straps. I do lots of chins but never weighted.( I need a belt) I rarely do any forearm exercises tho. Should I just drop the straps and work with what I can do without the straps? I would just have to do lots more reps.
Also you can load up the shrug rack real heavy and just hold it up as long as you can with out actually doing shrugs and it will start to strengthen your grip pretty quick
Do grip exercises as well. Try holding stacks of small plates with just your finger tips.
I would drop the straps, they weaken your grip. You'll notice guys who use straps and gloves have skinnier and weaker wrist

I can believe 20, it's hard to tell because the picture makes you look short and since you have large forearms it makes your biceps look smaller then they are.
It sucks being tall sometimes, I'm around the 20 mark too but I look in the mirror and they look like the arms of a 14yo cheer leader. Maybe that's more a psychological issue

AnonYea I've tried it but I'm a fan of chalk. It is a good alternative, I know a lot of pole dancers use it for grip as well
AnonTry weighted chin ups and add forearm exercises.
Barbell curl is of course the king of bicep exercises, drag curls are another favorite
