Im using FINASTERIDE for prostate problems but can it hurt BB results?
Recently my doc prescribed me a drug called Finasteride for my enlarged prostate. Have had this condition for 16 yrs and nothing helped for it till this med. I'M 54.Blood pressure is great-110/78. This medication helps but when I looked it up on wikipedia it said this is an NON-STEROIDAL ANTI- ANDROGEN. So is that like taking Nolva or a SERM for 6 months after you get off your cycle as I intend to stay on this for at least 6 months or more? Does anyone here know what effect finasteride has on muscle building and is there special significance for bodybuilding. It also says that finasteride effects GABA which effects mood and also MUSCLE TONE! Mood I knew about, but not muscle tone. Maybe you or one of the guys can share some thoughts.
side note: I have to take 2 Benadryl (OTC allergy meds) to fall asleep at night which aggravates the prostate over time and boy this finasteride lets me pee a lot better after only 1 week on it. I hope to keep it up for at least 6 months, maybe permanantly. I will literally sleep better. Also I have not been on any gear for at least 8 weeks and it was a 14 week cycle of 500mg sustanon weekly,20mg dbol daily.(1st 5 and last 5 weeks) Thanx!
I have not used any PRT'S except Proviron 25mg daily starting after week 12 of 14 week cycle but stopped after 10 days as something someone posted about it somewhere else made me nervous. No gyno or sides but I was so exhausted I quit working out altogether 1 week after my last inject. I feel much more rejuvinated now and will return to the gym on monday. Does anyone here even use finasteride or is it just for middle aged farts like me? Any feedback is appreciated.

56tooBrother Im in my late 50's and I remember one of my first cycles I had an issue with my prostate which is a problem, I think prevalent with us more seasoned LOL guys regardless of gear use. I consulted "Tread-M" and he suggested I use Fina and the shit got squared away like right now. Its amazing what headaches knowledge can save you. He straightened me out quick. As to the long term effects ,I couldn't tell you I do know its a very strong chemical. Im one of those that if its not building or cutting muscle I dont want it in my system but realize sometimes we do what we have to do. As far as the dosages he suggested ,I cant remember.Good luck and Im glad to her it helped you
Thanks 56. What I am hearing is it doesn't do anything to interfere or help with the building or cutting process and thats all i can ask for. However I suspect that if you test 200 bodybuilders the answer would change to "everyone reacts differently to it." But im relieved for now. Also since the testosterone was causing my prostate to clog a bit also, I was worried about doing another cycle. Fina solves that problem, thank God! Thank you!
