Odd Ab question, more fat or muscle?
So I've never been one that trained in abdominals. Even at a low bf% my abs were never really visible, and people claimed it was because I had no abdominal muscle. Months back I started doing squats, deadlifts, and some weighted ab exercises. Since being on my cycle for 3 months I've noticed my belly getting a bit bigger, but the rest of my body is pretty much the same or a tad leaner since before my cycle. I was wondering if this could be that I'm not gaining fat, but not losing it in the belly and the fat that was there before is now pushing outwards since my abdominal muscles are growing.
Like I said im just now getting some action on my abs, had a little bit of fat there before cycle, and leaning out or staying the same all over. It just looks like stomach is becoming a bit bigger but I can feel my stomach muscles underneath a bit stronger then before cycle. If its fat I don't mind, fat comes with muscle gained, but im thinking it may just be the fat from before the cycle pushing outwards since underneath is my ab muscles growing.
Most likely just fat, but thought id ask the question. My diets damn clean, but I may be eating to big of a surplus who knows.

Sorry for late reply, in the morning a few weeks back it was pretty normal. It looked like it did before cycle, this past week and half looks a bit more fatty. My diet is super clean but am consuming around 400 carbs, and drinking a ton of water throughout the day. I know im gaining a tad bit of fat with the cycle, but with gains comes fat. Can't be too afraid of fat gain. I did just establish some Anavar 2 weeks ago, could that possibly affect anything?
The only thing I really do for abs other then compound lifts is ab stretching twice a week; Planks, side planks, leg raises, 2 ab machines (just two sets each), dragon raises, and 4 sets of weighted crunches.
waltrlol
you should see my stomach when i'm at the gym
i drink at least a whole gallon of water while i'm there and my stomach sticks out like i'm about to have a baby or something ;P
Abs get worked in compound lifts, but it doesn't hurt to throw some sit-ups or crunches in at least a couple times a week in my opinion
Oh I get a gut from stuffing my face even if it's clean.. that's just from the amount of food you're taking in.. In the morning my stomach is tiny however.. And like every one else is saying thicker abs will just add to the fat.. If you don't plan on being super cut all of the time I would lay off of weighted ab exercises
BigBmajBig abs will push body fat out further. I've seen it happen many times. If you have four inches of fat and add 3 inches of muscle below it then it pushes out.
If diet were "clean as hell" you wouldn't be getting a gut tho.
well I think my diet is pretty damn clean, but I think im eating around 700 surplus though
Correct bro... you seen my abs they are really thick.. thats why i have to stay uber lean 24/7 or it looks like i have a big gut... pure carb control even on a growth cycle is needed to keep the cuts visible. +3
BigBmajThanks bro.
i had similar problem, tall body but still good tone. my problem was too big meals, so i changed for 7 meals a day in small sizes, its natural to body if you eat big meals you will streach your belly and it will be visible.
How long have you been properly training?... i guess not long as its heavy compound exercises that build abs,, not sit-ups or crunches.
Also i think you need to check your carb input bro.... everybody has abs its the strict diet(carb manipulation) thats makes em pop.
waltranother possible situation is that the stomach muscle is actually overfull due to eating larger quantities of food and is pressing outwards against your skin, is your stomach enlarged first thing in the morning? or is it only after you've eaten a few meals during the day?
