Arimidex for Women?

ad

So I know from personal experience that I am VERY sensitive to certain side-effects when I encounter estrogen rebound. The only one that bothers me is the bloating in my stomach. I get really bloated and look pudgy in my stomach whenever my estrogen levels are too high. Even when I have taken hormonal birth control in the past, I have always gotten this side effect, and wish to avoid this when I stop my next cycle.

I was considering taking nolvadex for PCT, since nolva acts as an estrogen antagonist, thus rendering the excess estrogen ineffective to the receptors... but somebody has told me that arimidex would be better at reducing the bloat.

What are people's opinions on arimidex for women?

Interesting responses. So I have a few more questions that I need help getting answered...

I know there are a few different schools of thought regarding whether women need to use PCT or not... but hypothetically speaking, if a woman decides to taper off slowly and not use PCT, how well does she keep her strength and size gains? Because I know that a lot of what determines how well you keep your gains is dependent upon how efficient your PCT is.

Second question is, is either aromasin or arimidex a sufficient enough PCT for women who DO wish to post-cycle? I understand that clomid is not necessary seeing as how women do not have testicles, and nolvadex is not necessary because women have breasts. But should nolvadex be considered if it will help to keep strength and size gains better? Or is aromasin or arimidex sufficient enough?

i'd say arimidex would give you less problems (if any at all). Simply because aromasin is an androgenic steroid and can cause masculinization and virilization effects. That is one reason why aromasin is usually prescribed in post menopausal women where masculinization is less of a concern.

Low dose arimidex shouldn't give you any "rebound" issues whatsoever. However, the good thing about being a women and getting rebound is it's only temporary and you already have breasts so 'gyno' is not of concern. Bottom line arimidex should be sufficient for your needs. Aromasin is unnecessary. Edema is a side effect of aromasin which is opposite of what you want.

The nolvadex for PCT is also not necessary for females because there is no need to. Typically you would taper down/lower steroid dosages towards the end of a cycle to allow your body to go back to normal.

Good post, i assumed that as she said she was thinking of taking nolva for PCT that she already used some form of steroid. If this is not the case then maybe arimidex would be a better choice, however aromasin in the short term shouldn't pose any masculinization/virilization issues, although it has a strong bunding affinity to the AR it is a very weak androgen.

yeah either AI should be sufficient for her intention, especially short term low dose. Though Arimidex has a little better reputation for controlling bloat and water retention is a possible side of aromasin

Your take on nolva is mistaken, you are forgetting that is is a SERM, without being patronizing that means It's selective you have two types of estrogen receptors a and b nolva will bind to only one or other of these, check it out in any medical journal, nolva binds well to some tissues and not others.
Aromasin would be a better choice as it's a type I steroidal aromatase inactivator rather than an aromatase inhibitor.

I know a couple of women who used/use Aromasin but not arimadex. Talk to hrdbdygrrrl, she has some experience with it. I'll find the posts for you.
