Testosterone gives you prostate cancer

ad

I wanted to share this with everyone, as there seems to be a lot of misinformation on the subject.

One of the reasons why I held off on starting trt, even though I had all the symptoms of low test, and the bloodwork results to back my low test numbers, was that my doctor at the time kept telling that trt could very likely lead to prostate cancer. He believed it to be so because he had heard it from another doctor who heard it from another doc. It was basically ignorance parroting ignorance.

All the symptoms of low test were messing me up psychologically at the time, I was in my late 30s and felt that I was stuck between a rock and hard place. It was either keep living with no libido, constant fatigue, memory issues, loss of confidence, depression etc, or take TRT and possibly develop prostate cancer.

I began researching the matter and found no direct link or reliable studies on the subject. I took the plunge with the TRT and my life has turned 180 degrees. I truly don't care if I have to poke 2080 holes in arse for the next 40 years (living till 80 X 1pin a week). The alternative of living with very low test, to me, is akin to living the life of a zombie.

The link to this short video here by Suzane Sommers (of all the people in the world) and dr mogertaler, explain, quite well i might add, the myth of high test and prostate cancer. For anyone on the fence about TRT or testosterone in general, I recommend his book, which he mentions in the vid. And kuddos to Sommers for bucking the prime time trend and fighting the fight against media misinformation.

the culprit here is actually the DHT. testosterone converts to DHT, which in turn contributes to the prostate risks. not so much the TRT itself...

You're right! but you'd be surprised how many family docs just don't this. End of the day, finasteride takes care of it and the hair issues.

Not all Testosterone converts to it.. only around 5%.. Not positive though.. correct me if I'm wrong.
