SeaHawkI ran a slin cycle for the first time about 8 years ago. I used the shortest acting version and a very moderate dosing protocol. I had an awful time with sugar/carb/protein/creatine shakes after injection. On a few occasions I threw them up and had to redrink more on an upset stomach. I had a very scary episode that is still unexplained. About a week after stopping I was in the car with my ex and start to feel light headed and drowsy. Within minutes I was on the very of passing out... that black circle around my vision started closing in. We pulled over and got a sugary drink... which helped very little. It wasnt until I was able to have a full meal that I recovered. Still to this day no one has been able to explain why I had that episode so long after stopping a short cycle of slin. It was enough to turn me off to slin forever.
WithdrawlInsulin is outstanding but ridiculously dangerous. Here's how I run it. Always Humalog or Novolog as those are out of your system the fastest and are the "easiest" to manage so to speak. Start with 2iu and add 1 iu each time till you get to 10 iu's MAX. This is to make sure you don't have some crazy adverse reaction and die. Always best to ease into insulin use to see how it affects you. The timing of your meals depends solely on what kind of insulin you are using. Here's my routine when I use Novolog. The timing for Humalog is very similar so this is how I would run it with Humalog as well.
10 iu's of Novolog post workout followed by my post workout shake consisting of 25g dextrose, 75g maltodextrin, 50g whey protein isolate, 10g creatine, 10-15g glutamine.
1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes after injection I then eat a soid meal consisting of 50g protein and 80-100g of complex carbs like brown rice, whole wheat bread, or whole wheat pasta.
This is usually enough to get me in the clear but every now and then I'll start getting low blood sugar a few hours after my solid meal so I've gotten into the habit of eating another meal with 60-75g of carbs 2.5 hours after my solid meal (3.5 hours post injection.)
Again, my meal timing is based of using Novolog. If you use other forms of insulin the times will vary Humulin R is available at pharmacies without a prescription but it lasts longer and thus is more difficult to manage and requires different meal timing.
Some rules to follow when using insulin:
Do not EVER go anywhere or be any place without simple sugars in case you start to go hypoglycemic. NO EXCEPTIONS EVER! You can die, so don't fuck around. Always have glucose tabs, raisins, honey, soda....anything with simple sugars...on hand at all times. If you start to feel light headed slam simple carbs immediately.
Do not EVER go to sleep within 5 hours of administering insulin or you could die. If you go hypo while sleeping you may never wake up. That means if you do late evening workouts, don't use insulin, period.
Sound like fun??? It isn't. Insulin makes you feel like shit too by the way. Tired, sluggish, etc. It really does add on the mass like nothing else but is it worth the risk? If you do decide to use it you must research it heavily. Then research it some more. Then when you think you're an expert on it, research it more. This isn't something you blindly go into or even do because some guy on an internet forum told you how to do it. This is no joke. Insulin can kill you.
phil113kgHi Withdrawl I have a question that I don't mind asking in open forum cause others may learn from my experience with slin. I've done just about all the research I could on here and google and believed that I had a solid base to launch me into the direction of using NovoRapid flexpen. Also i have veteran BB I associate with on a weekly bases that helped me map out a program as on how to use it properly. Well my situation is this. I woke up this morning around 5;30 feeling a little like shit wondering why the hell I was so thirsty and had a bad case of cotton mouth. My head was groggy and it took me a little while to figure out my blood sugar level had dropped over night while I was sleeping. So I rushed to the kitchen and grabbed some gummy bears and a coke and started pounding it down. Then got on here on this forum to look for someone who might understand what it is I wen through. Everyone that I spoke to prior to using slin warned me about this experience and prepped me to be ready. Has this ever happened to you? I mean waking up at night and feeling cold, thirsty, dry mouth and in a state of panic? It has been 5 minutes since I started taking in sugars and now I feel a whole lot better. What's your take on it?
WithdrawlSorry it took so long to respond to this, I haven't checked this thread in a long time. I'll tell you what man, right when I think I've figured out the timing of eating carbs after an insulin shot, I'll get hit out of nowhere. I've never had that happen when waking up because I usually train first thing in the am and use fast acting insulin, so it's way out of my system by the time I go to bed. BUT, I have had this happen to me later in the day, even when the insulin isn't active any more. Honestly, I don't know why that is. What you described is text book hypoglycemic. I've had that happen too. I'll feel almost confused, cold but clammy, and really light headed. I'm also irritated easily in that state. When I start chugging carbs, it feels like I can't get enough. After about 5 minutes everything starts returning to normal. This is why I love/hate insulin. Amazing results when combined with AAS, but every now and then something like this happens and it really freaks you out because if you didn't have carbs available, you'd be going into a coma..
Hey bro, I got a question for you. How long can slin be used post workout only before becoming completely insulin dependant? In other words, how long can it be ran post workout before your your body would require it just to live?
WithdrawlI've never seen hard scientific data on it but I've always been told to go no more than 4 weeks at a time with at least equal time off to avoid screwing up your bodies insulin sensitivity. Honestly, unless you're a pro you'll only want to do maybe two 4 week blasts a year during a bulking phase.
Honestly having some knowledge of insulin isn't enough. It takes an advanced understanding to be able to use and produce quality results. I never really understood the allure of running it, people are under the perception that it will drive them to the next level with their physique. Insulin is a very anabolic hormone, but to reap the best benefits it should be used in conjuction with a few other things. And it is way too easy to end up looking like the stay-puff marshmellow man using slin. If you have no clue what you're doing you will end up in a hypoglycemic coma or just plain fat. I've seen too many people mess themselves with insulin, I just would never recommend it, just can't. You can acheive what you want without it, trust me.
I really hope someone helps u out bro, insulin is very dangerous. You just said u have ZERO knowledge on slin, in that case, you aren't going to run it. Seriously wtf are you thinking getting ready to run it without knowing anything about it. It isn't AAS u won't just shut down your natural test levels this is serious, u can go into coma from it. I'm not busting your balls bro but learn a lot more about slin, like A LOT more. You wanna get closer to 300? Dude that's heavy as fuck, what's your height? And do you compete? Cause walking around 300 lbs 365 days per year isn't healthy
bro i know exactly what your saying and i appreciate you showing how TRULY dangerous this shit can be. but yes i have some knowledge on slin and how to monitor everything but i know there guys on here that could def help me out with starting dosage, cycle length. . i simply would like advice from a vet on a slin protocol for a beginner before i start ANYTHING with slin. and yes i compete im a little under 5'11 BUT i was the type of guy that even before i took gear i sat at a solid 230 im not the usual 160 pound guy trying to get over 200 ya know? im just looking for some help with a slin protocal my man because i know that will take it to the next level
