My typical meals

ad

The pictures attached has been my typical meals for the past 4 1/2 weeks and will continue to be my meals for the next 4 weeks, after that I'm going to up the calories. Breakfast: Low Fat cottage cheese with blueberries, sometime I switch that with yogurt. 2 hard boiled eggs and a bowl of oatmeal. After Gym: Protein Shake, the type pictured tastes like utter shit, but it gets the job done. I usually like Iso-Ology Peanut Butter Cup but ran out and waiting for that to arrive. Lunch: A Greek salad with a piece of salmon, bowl of broccoli and cheese soup and a piece of bread (compliments of Panera Bread Company-got a $100 gift certificate for Christmas). Dinner: No carbs, just 2 Cornish hens. I usually go 1 day poultry then one day red meat and switch. Tomorrow is bison, then the next day is chicken drum sticks and the day after will be lamb. Dessert (Not pictured): 1 Piece of wheat bread with peanut butter and honey. Before Bed: Another protein shake. I do eat a small amount of other things throughout the day: A handful of almonds, cheese-its, and/or dried cranberries. I saw a pic earlier about dried soybeans, going to give that try. The one problem I have with my diet is a high sodium intake. Everything seems to have a lot of salt in it. Suggestions and recommendations welcome..Thanks

The pics of your food look good. I'm hungry now after seeing the salmon. How is it you maintain your size eating this way though? I know I'd be down to 180 pounds or less .... But I'm a skinny dude normally. Are you trying to lose weight or maintain? Just curious. The food you eat is very similar to me.... I just gotta eat a ton more it seems. Oh... I don't eat cheese-its but I get nuts on these thin pretzel wafer things I dip in cottage cheese.... Which is retarded high in sodium I found out.
+1 for sharing this..... As well as other good info bro!

looks yum. whats your total sodium intake per day? avg. I LOVE CC but yes it has a good amount of sodium. My bloat isnt to bad with 1.5-2 gallons water per day and extra potassium.

A nice break from the monotony is shred some chicken, mash some sweet potatoes,
And cook some brown rice. Heat a pan with macadamia nut oil and in a bowl combine
All the food and make patties. Oh and cook all ingredients separate and let cool
Before combining. Keep it up killah

LOL...yeah, sodium. Well, you can cut out the cheese-its and the bread(s) if that seems to be an everyday staple for ya. Make sure your almonds are RAW too..not roasted or anything like that. Also depending on the soup...esp. cheese soup can pack the sodium, no doubt if it is processed and/or from can/mix, etc. Watch out on your seasonings too...there are low/no sodium seasonings available in certain grocery stores here and there.
Other than that...sometimes I FEEL that people on here get a lil' carried away with the doomsday prophecies of too much sodium in your diet..I used to be one of those guys, lol...BUT just drink PLENTY of water, and depending on your size, if you are really 231 lbs., then you should be drinking probably a gallon/gallon - 1/2 per day and it will help keep the excess sodium flushed enough.

Beats the mind numbing broccolli and chicken routine for sure. I love cheese-its, but any particular reason as a snack? I've never checked the nutritional value, but I always feel kinda guilty eating 'em.

snuka2012's picture

Damnit...I was hoping you were gonna say it had surprisingly good nutritional value or something like that. Guess it's gonna have to stay a guilty pleasure.

Sometimes you dont realize how crappy you felt all along, until you get a chance to feel great.

funny you say that...I was just talking to someone about this the other day(not on here).
