yes, i know theres a supps forum. but i think this belongs here. obviously if your in the supps forum you take supps. just want a general consensus from the family...

so do you guys still take supplements? i know most are bullshit but some have proven results.

other than protein i really dont take anything right now. i cut out the fat burners and preworkout. dont want anything fucking with the appetite. i also cut out the bcaa's. not that i think theyre pointless, but im running gh, so i think my protein synthesis is high enough.

Take amino acids also these are the building blocks of protein. Not only do help recovery, certain aminos also help with releasing growth hormone.

Multi, omega complex, heart supps, joint supps, BCAA's and glutamine(during workouts), whey/casein, creatine HCL...that's basically it. MOST supps are NOT bullshit...just the sports supps are...BIG difference!! The shit for your heart and joints(especially!!) are proven by clinical studies to be effective.

yeah i should have worded that wrong. obviously not referring to vitamins and cycle support. more like creatine and post workout formulas.

creatine really isn't garbage either...it just has ALOT of misconceptions about it. creatine actually has biological value to it as it is a functional part of the ATP cycle. Granted the creatine from an exogenous source really isn't the same creatine needed for the cycle...BUT your body DOES manufacture it from the amino acids methionine, arginine and glycine. The point is there are advantages to supping with certain forms of creatine as well...and that in order for creatine to be effective it needs to bond with a phosphate group and become creatine phosphate, and some work better at absorbing than other forms. Supposedly mono only has about a 40% aborption rate while creatine citrate is said to have a 90% rate.

Man i take a shitload of supps, mostly for joints & heart health, comes out to about 20+ pills a day, i also take a pre workout, whey, & casein

I take the normal whey and casein , fish oil, and a multi. I do use a preworkout but only use 1 scoop it really doesn't mess with my appetite.

yeah one scoop doesnt mess with my appetite. also dont feel it. im at about 3-4.
